  1. and the language to be used is English, isn't it?

Yes, the language is English and a few of the members have the wit to use it with distinction.

The rubes add spice and comic relief to the forum with their cryptolect, their mateship, and their prickly self-esteem.

Just as music hall and vaudeville had their "stage Irishman", a snub-nosed little bantam cock who - between pratfalls - would keep the audiences howling with laughter at their thick brogue and clueless shenanigans, Thai Visa has its "stage Antipodeans". They enliven the forum with their loquacious posts recording in detail their clownish lives as strangers in a strange land.

    G'day cobbers!

    G'day digs.

Crikeys is great to see someone "gets it" from time to time.

We are just a pack of galahs out for a giggle...

  2. Unbelievable!!! Besides changing everything else in Chiang Mai (the things that make Chiang Mai so attractive to everyone moving here), now people want to change the weather, which, apparently, is no problem for local citizens.

Who said they want to change the weather.

Have you ever heard the term "banter"? Thats what this and most other threads are about in the long run.

  3. my mercedes benze is back on the road

4 weeks wait for parts(longer for benze parts)

    2 weeks at panel shop

    6 weeks in total

good service from the mae rim police dept, ins co,and panel shop

and thankfully no one was injured etc etc,

    done well, me thinkssmile.png

Is it within the realm of possibility that someone could own a Mercedes Benz and not be able to spell it?

    No offence meant. Just curious.

I work with guys offshore that can hardly spell and they can all afford Benz, BMW, etc. Careful with the bone pointing.

evenstebvens...being an ex panel beater 2 weeks in a shop for a big hit is normal, 6 weeks not too far fetched if mechanical damage as well. Just sayin

  4. I recommend buying the cheapest one possible i.e. under 1k baht. Most people start juicing, really get into it, then start bragging about it to friends, then suddenly quit after 1-3 months. My juicer cost 500 baht (in philippines) and did the job brilliantly for the 2 months I was a juicer lol. If you stick at it for 6+ months then that is the time to start looking at the super duper juicers for $500 or whatever they cost.

Everyone i know who is a juicer, not just a "fad" juicer has said the opposite to you. Don't waste time and money on a half decent one.

  5. I forgot to mention, you may have well developed arm muscles as a side affect after using that thing for awhile wink.png

Make sure to cut up the carrot and beetroot

I get my beetroot, celery, kale, cucumber and spinach at Baan Suan Pak. carrot at the local markets

This is the place next to Airport Plaza?

Baan Suan Pak is near Muang mai markets in Chiang Moi, its not the cheapest but good quality and refrigerated. i go to muang mai markets to pick up things like carrots if i feel like getting bulk or paying less, you dont get much juice out of the carrots at the health food shop too

    Cheers,

Will call in there tomorrow. Got some beetroot at Rimping today but on the pricey side, along with other "organic" fruit and veg.

We settled for a Humon slow juicer today from Central. 5 years full warranty, they have a parts and service centre in Bangkok, no need to send it back to Korea. Touch wood it won't get broken anyhow....

  6. It's draw used to be it's riverside location...It would need to be one heck of a view to compete with that. I can't see the ring road having any such view. The food was always just "so-so".

Anyway, i was wrong once before, could happen again one day.

High carb/low fat? You need to read the recently written book on Amazon entitled "The Big Fat Surprise." Also the Time Magazine of 2-3 months ago with a cover that says "Eat Butter." Eating a high carb diet is just asking for diabetes and obesity problems. The LATEST research is your friend. Spacedoc.com is a treasure trove of articles and references to the latest research concerning health and vascular diseases.

The problem with the latest research is there is already latest research out contradicting it. In ten years they will have latest research telling you they were wrong it is now this. It is an ever changing opinion based on facts that have been bent around to favor the authors opinion.wai.gif

Tesco Lotus have lots of plastic shoes and would appreciate your business.

Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.

Is oil byproducts not used in plastic? Thereby harming the atmosphere and hurting all animals as well as Man?

Seems they're neither plastic or rubber.

I still put my money on them being vegan.

  9. I bought a manual single auger juicer at the pharmacy near the supermarket in bottom floor Central Airport, i juice carrot, apple, beetroot and greens with no probs, its only 1450baht. i have a twin gear green power $600+ juicer back home and this does the same job

    Thanks.

Where do you get your beetroot here in CM?

  10. Have not got a clue as to what a Vegan Shoes(office wear) is

How ever if you are looking for quality shoes Birkenstock has opened an out let in Maya. They are a quality shoe that come in different styles maybe some are Vegan Shoes(office wear).

I just mean decent shoes that you can wear working in an office, say a suit, or shirt and tie.

Crocs make dress shoes now, go take a look. I'm not horsing around.

  11. Used to see at Robison not sure if they moved to Ban and Beyond, or look for Hurom on true select. Blender heat up all the veg and Fruits cause so much oxidation by the time you get to drink it. Slow juicer seems a better choice in my opinion.

Thanks. Yes I have heard that. We want it for juicing only, no pulp. We already have a blender for mixing. Hurom seems to be a brand worth hunting down.

  12. Tesco's, Big C, Makro's and many other shops I can't recall now.

Just go to the electric goods department and you will spot them.

Cheers. Had a look at those ones and they are a bit flimsy for what i want it for.

  13. Recently walked into the new Central festival with my family and all of us had to put our hands over our ears from the excessive noise. There was a band playing on the ground floor, we entered on the top floor. Now that was OTT.

Folks just need to grow a set of kahunas and confront, albeit nicely.

"Kahunas" and "cajones" are two very different things. If you referred to a Kahuna as cajones you may be subjected to unfortunate spells.

    Knackers is what i meant...

  14. The best Bolognese sauce in CM is made daily and sold by a lady named Dang in the Warorot Market, she calls it "nam prick ong".

I was about to post the same, Nam Prik Ong is Bolognese sauce on heat.

Amusing posts, especially love the 30 year hunt for the world's best Bolognese sauce being resolved in a shopping centre on the outskirts of Chiang Mai.

    Namm prik and bolognese........

One is tomato sauce the other is chilli sauce.

Have you ever even eaten nam prick ong that you can remember?

Have a look at the recipe that you posted, it has 15 tomatoes in it.

Dress it anyway you like, its still a chilli sauce, not a Bolognese. lol
