  1. Just Makro way for that service. Maybe a fraud insurance way of some kind. As you say no biggie. ????
  2. Up to you but does your wife want to. The main problem in the UK at the moment is finding a job that pays enough money for accommodation and utility household costs.
  3. When you are here book a motorbike test with a motorbike training school Honda have some. Alternative is :- Get the use of or buy a twist and go scooter Honda Clicks are a good choice. Get a friend who rides scooters and find a quiet off road area to ride up and down and getting use to stop and starting off. Get to practice stopping quickly without losing control. Book a motorcycle test with the DLT office in your area. When confident follow your friend on the roads to get practice of finding out how other road users and traffic carry on here. Get to pass your test and ride slow ride safe, enjoy. ????
  4. Recent visit from family UK. My Daughter has just gone home with a Buddha painting on canvas. My son took a Buddha statue home as well for his wife.
  5. You are funny and have no idea how Thailand works, excuse the pun.

  7. In or out would not fix it, need a new laws.
  8. On the remote a list comes up AV etc HD 1, HD2 switching to 2 no response so i guess something wrong with tv. Thanks to all.
  9. JVC flat screen TV has HDMI1 and HDMI2. With computer plugged into HDMI1 can get internet up on screen OK without having to do anything. Tried plugging into HDMI2 cannot get any response just want to confirm thats it's a fault with the TV's HDMI2.
  10. Tough TiT and as said don't like it you know the alternative.
  11. All electric vehicles are OK for knocking about our village area EV scoot bikes, 3wheeler EV and 4 wheeler travel around old city sukhothai and new city 12 kilos away.
  12. I believe you could but unlike Thais you need 800,000baht in the bank or the other methods. ???? I like to do road trips on my bike and i like a beer. My farmhouse has fridge and night light and is zero per month unless i use the air-con. My village house is another story but still cheap living.
  13. Just because you know little about how poor people manage, it is silly to challenge me you surely know i would not want to live like that and couldn't I'm not Thai. They have no choice and don't do well and go without in some cases whether self inflicted or from an accident or wore out parts of the body. They can get 2 free meals a day at the village temple if they want. B.I.L. gets 800 baht a month because unable to work. S.I.L. gets 700 + 400+ 300 to buy rice. Their electric bills are usually free because they use 5/15 and little electric. My wife pays for their water. My wife's family another 2 brothers and sister bring food as well. The eldest sister gets 800 baht from govt and works in my wife's cafe' restaurant with my wife's great nephew who we put through college to be a Chef and cannot get a job yet because he has no experience. ????
  14. You miss the point I'm making as to why my son employed her.
  15. Probably that is all I remember my wallet being raided for. Accommodation and food about 7000 a month. 6 monthly payments to Bangkok University of around 35 - 37,000 per term. There some extras for supplying some equipment. I remember he wanted a camera and I still had my Olympus OM30 35mm camera and rolls of film. He was moaning about it but when he showed it to his teacher tutor whatever you call them, the tutor said thats the proper camera way to learn with all manual settings which you have set the camera up to get a good picture. Saved me some. ????
  16. Exactly and funny because they hired a college girl looking for a secretary job who couldn't get companies to employ her because she had no experience.
  17. I concur my Thai son has a bachelor's degree and couldn't find work after leaving Uni and he also wouldn't take a lesser job. He was saying going interviews they wanted people with experience ???? which I find is typical shortsighted management. He did realize after a while what his Uni teacher said to him and that was to set up his own business and put himself about. Reluctantly he did just that with someone who studied the same as him who was in the same position in finding work so they set up a partnership company. He hasn't looked back and has well, working hard still also long hours sometimes but enjoys his work on some productions. So my 7000 baht a month and some 70,000 baht per year for 4.1/2 years was not in vain. ????
  18. Well you can get averages of wages on Google. One from memory was a range of 24,000 baht to 440,000 baht a month. Doing the average doesn't tell you much IMHO.
  19. Maybe !! it was what an American guy told me who was looking into investing with his girlfriend into getting a 7-11 franchise back in 2012.
  20. As l would have to keep saying Thai labour laws may well be very specific for some employers but not all. I would say if they were enforced then it would get people the sack. Many people with there own small business or are down as self-employed who get people to work for them don't take any notice of labour laws. I get my Mrs to employ people to do certain work for me on my farmland and give em 200 baht up to them whether they take it on or how many hours they work.
