  1. "1. Too Tall:The average height of a Thai woman is 157.3 cm (about 5ft 2in) while the average height for a man is 167.5 cm (about four inches taller). There are always exceptions to the rule but, generally speaking, taller women were probably not born as women. Tall people (of any nationality) generally also have large hands and feet, which can be another good indicator." A number of years ago I used to date a Thai flight attendant. She was 178cm (5'10") tall and had large hands and feet. She was all female though. She now lives in the USA and is married to a farang and has a 10 year old boy. There are a lot of taller Thais these days. Change in diet maybe?
  2. They also have "dual pricing" for out of state US students attending public universities that are not in their own state.
  3. Just another reason why I cannot in good faith suggest anyone to visit Thailand until these potential "money grabs" are removed. Until Thailand returns to pre-Covid entry and exit requirements one should avoid Thailand.
  4. If the assassins were indeed foreign and sent to Thailand to complete their job I hope they had work permits otherwise they will be in huge trouble.
  5. Be careful as you can still get railroaded in Thailand! 555
  6. He is NOT in Thailand. Still in NZ somewhere on the north island.
  7. I wouldn't cut corners on good quality running shoes by trying to go with knock offs. There is a big difference. Factory seconds, as sold in the west, are exactly that. A shoe that usually has some cosmetic defect but is structurally sound.
  8. Why am I not surprised that he is first in line to pat his own back or toot his own horn?
  9. About three years ago a friend of mine came to Bangkok with his Thai wife for 30 days. During that time he found that he needed to extend his time in Thailand. He went to the Immigration office in Samut Prakan as he and his wife were staying at her house which is located in that province. He still had a bout three or four days left on his 30 day visa exempt. They extended his visa exempt status for another 30 days. The cost for this was 1,900 baht. He is an infrequent visitor as they only come to Thailand about every other year. Not sure if that matters or not.
  10. Yes, it is all set up by the Thai authorities in order to extract as much money from foreign tourists as possible. They should also include a free BTS and MRT pass to all visa exempt tourists. That way they could ride crowded trains and further increase their chances of testing positive the next time they need to take a test at the 5 day mark or when boarding a plane. A nice quarantine hotel or hospitalization would help fill the government coffers.
  11. Hopefully those vocational students won't be fighting rival Thai vocational students in Saudi. I'm sure the Saudi authorities won't be quite as lenient as the Thai authorities are.
  12. Not me! I want to hang around and see how this whole s___show turns out.
  13. Obviously if I was heading out to hit the area of Tree Town I must be feeling ok as in no symptoms of Covid-19. Why subject myself to their testing when there are other places to go that are not testing. Now if I was exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 and wasn't feeling well I would most likely stay home anyway. Then I could take an at home test kit and proceed from there.
  14. That father is an utter piece of garbage. Hopefully is soon in police custody and then tried and convicted. A long prison sentence would be best. He will not be so popular in prison.
  15. The actual numbers might even be a bit lower. Think of all the Thais that are in the House Registration (Tabien Bahn) but live overseas.
  16. Yes, I wouldn't take the chance of testing positive. I would just go elsewhere.
  17. 300 baht isn't going to make someone decide to go elsewhere, especially when it is imbedded into the price of the ticket. There's already an airport tax in there anyway and has been for a long time. It's better than the old days of having to have a 500 baht note ready when departing. For a lot of tourists it was a pain in the ___.
  18. Well, if you're a farang tourist just wait until you get back to your home country. Then write your negative review.
  19. Yes, the Thailand plan brought to you by the ruling junta has been a disaster.
  20. Good Luck, and I hope that you are able to get your visa sorted out.
  21. Has the Thai government revoked/cancelled his passport? Does he have citizenship in another country and travels on that passport? I'm assuming that all of his Thai assets have been frozen but obviously he has overseas based assets and family support.
  22. What's next, close down Soi 4, Soi 8, or Soi 11 if a number of people produce positive tests?
