  1. Very sad news. I hope that the RTP can solve this case. RIP to the young man and hopefully the girl can be found unharmed.
  2. Good luck to your friend. I hope that he can make a go of it.
  3. Not really surprised that April is a lower month for international arrivals from all countries. Guess what, May just might be a low month for international arrivals as well. However, it's not all doom and gloom. I predict that in November and December there will be an uptick in international arrivals.
  4. Everyone's lifestyle is different. I could live pretty well on $3000 a month, although not luxurious, in Bangkok as my house is paid off. For some people, that wouldn't even cover their rent in Bangkok.
  5. Ouch! Sorry to hear it has been so bad. It didn't used to be like that. I'll be there in December. Bought a house there a long time ago not too far from the main train station but I really don't spend much time there anymore.
  6. Hey Khun LA, your location says Prachuap Khiri Khan. Are you living in the city of PKK? How is the air quality there?
  7. I don't know about that. Today in Phuket on one website it said that the air quality was 135. Another had it right now as 72 which is moderate. https://www.iqair.com/us/thailand/phuket
  8. Is this guy one of the big spending, high quality tourists that the Thai government is trying to attract?
  9. #5 Affordable Housing. The article states that "Foreigners are able to purchase property in Thailand, and there are a variety of options available including houses, townhouses, and condominiums making it a lucrative opportunity to retire in Thailand." This is very misleading as foreigners cannot just go out and buy a house as they would in their home country. Yes, you can buy a house but there are a lot of additional requirements you will have to have taken care of to make yourself eligible to purchase that house.
  10. I have taken bicycles on trains from Bangkok to Nong Khai as well as Surat Thani and Ayutthaya numerous times since back in the 90's. I never had a problem. Even easier now with the internet.
  11. Just a couple of questions. Was the crowd cool with her taking off her shoes and throwing them into the first few rows? If the word "like" was removed from her vocabulary would she be able to form a coherent sentence?
  12. Bangkok is much safer than many cities in the West night or day. Women still need to be careful, especially at night and walking in dark sois.
  13. Lot of hate on this forum for this guy from a bunch of most likely old AN members. I've never watched his YT channel but I do know who he is. Just not that interested in his content. The guy is very successful at what he does. Good for him. I know that those in the LDS faith are strongly encouraged to marry within the same faith. I wonder if his ex and current GF are LDS?
  14. Myanmar has been forgotten by the world. So many atrocities committed in that country yet the Thai government turns a blind eye to it.
  15. From the Pattaya News article, "He said the man allegedly did not take good care of his dog, having let it bark and defecate in public areas." What is so unusual in Thailand about that? About 90% or more of the dogs in Thailand.
  16. Low level criminals who are represented by public defenders use this same tactic. Even those with lengthy criminal records. But yes, I get what you are saying.
  17. I will not be attending any of her concerts even if I got the tickets for free. I heard they are starting at 13,000 baht?
  18. Actually, she plead out to a lesser charge which was a misdemeanor and not a felony. From Wikipedia: On June 21, 2019, a jury indicted Cardi B on 14 charges, including two counts of felony assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, stemming from the incident.[351][352] She was arraigned on June 25, 2019, and pleaded not guilty on all charges.[353] On September 15, 2022, she plead guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, resulting in a sentence of 15 days of community service.[
  19. Darn, and I have been saying Khop Khun Khraap. I guess I just like those extra h's, 555!
  20. He reported favorably in support of the war effort by Russian forces. He was at times critical of how the Russian Army operated but was always pro=Putin and in favor of the war. Who or what organization decided to remove him is yet to be determined as there are quite a few possibilities.
  21. Yes, a very good chance of that happening. Most likely by a bullet though.
  22. The 45 day visa exemption was nice while it lasted. Now back to the regular 30 day visa exemption. It would be great if Thailand were to do this same program again later this year. Just have to wait and see. It's their country, they can do as they like.
  23. It was a good program while it lasted. Maybe someday it will be back again. A friend of mine already booked his flights here for 45 days from mid-December to the end of January. He will probably take a trip out of Thailand for a week or so and then return before leaving the end of January. Sure the Thai government will make money exiting and then returning but they will miss out on the money he would have spent if he didn't have to leave.
  24. Yes, this former athlete was denied parole on Friday. He will need to serve at least another 16 months until he is once again eligible for parole. I do hope that he is denied again.
