Used car market in a jam as electric vehicles spark trouble

You forget Thai's can barely count and when it comes to serious financial matters they are almost completely ignorant. -
Chiang Mai Hospital Floods, Halts Non-Urgent Care

Hmmmm; and when other Countries very experienced in how to deal with water try to help they are told..''Go home, we don't need you and we know how to fix it ourselves ''. Glug Glug ! -
Major Storm Won't Hit Thailand Like in 2011, official confirms
trainman34014 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ah; the Michael Fish of Thailand ! I lived in Chiang Mai in 2011 and still live here now and in my opinion what happened was several more months than usual of frequent and heavyish rain fell in 2011 and this huge amount of extra water runs South and naturally hit Bangkok. They knew it was coming and did nothing much about it until it was too late, like having small Boats with engines running to move the water away faster...Lol. This year it seems to me that we have had equal rainfall to 2011, if not more, so stands to reason that Bangkok will Flood before much longer. If a Thai 'Official' tells you there is nothing to worry about then you should buy yourself a Boat at the earliest opportunity ! -
Thai Govt Tackles Soaring Pork Prices, Plans Domestic Solutions
trainman34014 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If any Government was serious about lowering prices of anything they would introduce Price Caps and tell the Processors '' Get your product from anywhere you like Domestic or Imports but this is the Capped Price which the Consumers will be made aware of'' . Suppliers and Supermarkets inThailand are too free to engage in Price Gouging and they take full advantage of that with so little Competition ! -
Thai Govt Tackles Soaring Pork Prices, Plans Domestic Solutions

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However; i have no wish to live on Rabbit Food without Meat and that's my choice. Years ago i had a good friend who worked in a Laboratory and he always said to me ''If you saw the things i see inside Animals Bodies you too would become a Vegetarian'' . Again; his opinion and i respect that, but doesn't mean i'm not going to continue eating Meat ! -

'Lost Control' Having been a Passenger in several high powered Cars driven by Thai's (usually i'm the only one wearing a Seat Belt) i can say it is not a nice experience at all as they love showing off. Normal practice seems to be no Seat Belt and either driving with one hand on the Steering Wheel or at times just one finger or one thumb. No surprise then when they 'lose control' as you only need to hit ah empty Fag Packet at high speed to 'lose it' if you are not at any time in complete control of the Vehicle ! -
Thailand raises alarm on online child sexual harassment surge
trainman34014 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
For a start there will have been way way more than 540 cases in Thailand last year as many go unreported and any numbers that are bad news for Thailands 'Image' are dumbed down here. A good start would be rounding up all the Beer Swilling, Pot Smoking Fathers, Grandfathers and 'Uncles' who love to play with the Young Girls in the Family and any others they can get their hands on. Having lived in Rural Regions here for 20 years i have witnessed many 'situations' of abuse of Children; it's endemic, and the 'Authorities' do nothing to stop it. -
Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
trainman34014 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They've been trying to do that for years but seems the well heeled don't want to come to a Country where they are likely to be Electrocuted by Hanging Wires, robbed for having a decent Watch on their wrist, get killed on so called 'Pedestrien Cossings' by lunatic drivers, falldown uncovered/broken Manholes, negotiate Pavements (where there even is one) taken over by Lamposts, Telephone Boxes, Trees, pIles of Rubbish or the Encroachment of Street Traders and their Equipment and when they are tired of all that they can go to a National Park and get charged four times as much as a Thai for looking at Trees and Flowers ! Meanwhile; we are ensured by certain Thai Politicians past and present that Thailand is already a 'Developed Country'. Pull the other one Somchai ! -

To each his own. I've been on Marriage Extensions for 20 years and never had the slightest problem as we are well organised and everything is ready the day before we go in. Bank Letter and Book Copy Pages are allowed from one day before application in Chiang Mai. Usually in and out in around 60-90 minutes and the Officers remember us year after year. Home visit only once on first application and when the Officers came to our home they sat outside at the front with a Coffee and filled in their paperwork whilst chatting jovially . I can never understand the whiners complaining about all the 'extra work' needed when it's just a few more sheets of paper and a few photo's. Not exactly a Brain Strain or Rocket Science !

Aunt is most likely Illiterate and will get away with a rollicking. The Perverted 'Offficial' will be transfered to somewhere near a Border away from anyone who knows anything about it and life will continue as normal. In the 20 years i have lived here i have lost count of such cases along with Men in the Family sexually assaulting their own Offspring, Grandchildren, Nieces, etc etc. I can never remember a single person being sent to Prison for any such offence !

Thai supermarket Big C to launch four new branches
trainman34014 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Big C and Lotu'ssssss lag far behind Makro when it comes Fruit and Veg' selection and Bakery. Tops is ok for Bread too but a lot more expensive for majority of items. We now have 'Go Wholesale' in Chiang Mai as well but just seems like a giant Makro with more room between the aisles, a few Live Crabs, Lobsters and Fishes, poor devils. -

From my observations of Thai's over 20 years living here there doesn't seem to be much difference between Children and supposed 'Adults' ! -
Cutting through all the Bull and Hype, the truth is Trump is a very dangerous Man for America and the rest of The World. In the forthcoming Election he needs to be buried once and for all. If Sane people don't like Harris or the Dem's they can oust them again in 2028, by which time the Republicans may have somebody to lead them who is at least a decent Human Being more concerned for other people than just him/herself.
