  1. Would not surprise me at all if Ford has the parts in stock and is willing to deliver, but the dealer has to wait for the same parts parallel imported by the insurance company to save a few dime.

They are hardly wider than a standard sedan BTW.

I don't reckon they will be buying cheap knock off parts from China for the Ranger.

I sell parts (genuine) for the Ranger back into Aus. Took 5 weeks to get Left Hand Headlights yet Right hand ones were available the next day..... Makes it hard to keep delivery promises on my end.

Yesterday I ordered Left Hand Drive steering column and pedal assemblies, they will be delivered to me on Monday. I guess parts that are not in demand are more readily available.

  2. No Diss to Spoonman, but his avatar represents to me the mentality of Wildcat Drivers. They are the "New Yobs" taking over from Tuna drivers No1 spot on the list as Yob of the Year...The Anchors in the Orange ones are retards, Thai or Ferang.

When it comes to Orange Wildtrak's I reckon you have the nail on the head thumbsup.gif.

Real men drive lifted black ones for that proper "get the <deleted> outta my way" experience.

  3. I'd definitely opt for Rx7 looks real nice and there is nothing like the buttery smooth power of a rotary. It's a real head turner but definitely NOT a 2011 so not sure what that's all about? They stopped manufacturing them several years prior to the new Rx8 which came out in 2004.

2011 would be the first year it was road taxed in Thailand, it came over in 2010 in 10 different pieces and was welded back together by a thai guy someone wearing flip flops and sunglasses using a 30 year old stick welder to do the job.

  4. I've been trying to get a test-drive of a 3.2 Wildtrak Ranger before buying. I've had zero success despite Emails and phone-calls to Ford. I'm assuming that's been the situation for all members who have bought a new 3.2 Ranger ?

Now, after searching through test-drive articles etc I'm reading reports and spy-shots, from Australia, that the Ranger ( and Mazda BT50) are going to have a mid-2015 minor change involving the front and interior. Has any member heard the same and do they have any further details?

I'll now wait until 2015 or go for the Nissan Navara NP300 4X4 Auto.

You aint ever gunna get a test drive from a Ford Dealership in a Wildtrak Ranger as demand outstrips supply by a fair margin so there is zero incentive to entice new buyers with test drives and the like.

  5. Spoonman, be careful with the lowered springs. Many quote 20-30mm drop, but I found when I used them, the drop was closer to two inches. If you have the cash get some adjustable coilovers. They cost more but you can adjust. Not sure if you can set them to just a 1inch drop though. I have 17" on my civic. Can't imagine 19 or 20" lol. They will be rather harsh and you will have hardly any sidewall left. They will look cool though! Watch the flooding roads too:)

Yeah am fitting a koni/eibach combo that is popular with 3 owners in the USA, never heard of any reports that the vehicle is lower than expected.

My 3 already has 18" wheels so the jump to 19" or even 20" is not as extreme as it sounds... vehicle performce on flooded roads will be the same no matter the wheels fitted.

  6. This is a USA Mustang...around 1980......w00t.gif

    attachicon.gifmus.jpg

That's when they were real ugly and SLOW.

Must admit I watched these fugging excuses for a Mustang run 10's in Florida way back..........whistling.gif

And you are still stuck way back when reading your posts, You and Old Aged Pensioner.... Errrrrr Ace of Pop need to retire gracefully and start knitting cause any info or opinion either of you might have in regards to cars of this era was already out of date 20 years ago.

  7. I was under the impression that a 2 litre right hand drive Mustang had been built and was soon to be supplied for the UK and other markets, there is also a 5 litre V8 for those who cannot stand the thought of anything less in a Mustang biggrin.png

    Hmmmmmmmm, the 427, 429 would be my choice.............(7 litre)...............clap2.gif

    Turbo 2.3 litre 4 cyl - 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.

    Naturally aspirated 3.7 litre V6 - 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

    Naturally Aspirated 5.0 V8 - 420 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque.

I will take the 427 in an early muz.............If you talking about the later Muz that looks like a UK escort bah.gif , put what you like in it.......sad.png

I just don't see a UK Escort in the new Mustang, maybe you need some fresh glasses.

  8. Actually the prices are about 3.5m baht new as long as you don't go for the 5 litre versions.

However they are all left hand drive.

  9. Yes the Thai American Car Club has many American muscle cars in the club. They usually have a show every year. Have not been in a couple years since I sold my 1965 Olds Cutlass but here is a link to some photos I took at one of their shows.

The black thing (Lincoln ?) reminds me of the car the from the movie "The Car"..... I tried to convince my boss to buy it when it was up for sale a few years ago.

  10. how about considering the Nissan Skyline GTR34, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX8, Subaru WRX

Not a chance will you get an R34 skyline for under a million baht.... you would be looking at well flogged R32's for that coin.

Older Supra's/RX8's and WRX's you will find though.

I would not want someone elses flogged out RX8 though..... they are horrid cars and that chook cooker up front is a time bomb, saying that they are an awesome vehicle with an LS series V8 chev in them.

If it is just for some weekend fun what about a late 90's Mazda MX5, once it gets boring toss a turbo on it.

  11. Keeping the same tyre width/section profile as OEM and going to a larger rim diametre will make a noticeable difference to the vehicle but will make any noticeable improvement to handling (possibly making it worse with cornering and braking).

If you are only thinking about aesthetics just go to an alloy rim that you like in the same diametre as OEM and keep your existing tyres.

  12. If you stay within 3% of the OEM rolling diametre the noticeable difference will be very little.

Here is a comparison of tyre sizes as Iam going to upgrade from the 18" wheels/tyres on my Mazda 3, Iam thinking 19's but 20's is also a possibility.

A slighty harsher ride I do not care about as I will be fitting 1 inch lowered suspension as well.
