  1. Tests can vary even at the best labs, true. Always best to repeat any test w/ significantly outlying results, as I've occasionally advised in the health forum. Avoid unnecessary panic.
  2. Yes. No kidding. So, get those if you need them. "A man who's tired of Pattaya is tired of life." Fix it. So you had some bad luck, sh*t happens. Just out of curiosity, what do the other owners do?
  3. Good, though should have been in your initial post to make it useful. As I said, my Bangkok Hsp results have correlated very closely with Lifecare's. My numbers vary little year to year. So, members. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
  4. Conspiracy theories abound and we love them here. Whatever spying on you Russians are doing would pale in comparison to M'soft, Google, and Apple, not to mention countless apps. I wouldn't worry about it. If you're on Win 10 or 11, Defender is all you need. On 7, consider Bitdefender. Kapersky did good not very long ago identifying a new rootkit exploit, and has a good rootkit remover.
  5. Agent????? Could have been my battle-tested Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar--serious panty-dropping juice my gf loves on me--but more likely just the usual wit, charm, and good looks.???? 'Course, they loved that yellow book and pink card. My advice: level up.
  6. OK, post the names and locations in Pattaya you know are accredited. Also, prices for a battery of standard tests. BTW, accreditation and certifications may be overrated in Thailand.???? Lifecare's run by a certified med tech and the equipment looks clean and modern. Some tests are sent out to larger labs, probably the same ones used by hospitals. Been using them for years. The idea is to a first pass at a good private lab (much cheaper), and if something looks outside norms, potentially a problem, follow up at a hospital and a specialist. Bumrungrad repeated one of my Lifecare tests--being Burmrungrad--and got the same results. Moreover, a recent routine checkup at Sirikit came back with results, a year after a Lifecare package, with results almost exactly the same. As it should have, nothing's changed in my lifestyle. And I've occasionally gone for the yearly package deals at Phyathai and Bangkok-Pattaya and the test results were about the same as Lifecare's a year previous. So I got no problem recommending Lifecare. Up 2 U.
  7. But mine did, and so they promptly issued my license. In fact, I didn't even have to take the colorblind or the braking test. How good is that? If yours counted for nowt, then perhaps you'd better pay closer attention to your personal hygiene. I think this may lie at the heart of the many problems reported by our members regarding customer service in Thailand.
  8. Lighten up. Personally, I wouldn't worry. How many times have you been stopped? If you are, would they run your DL thru a computer? No. Would the computer show any "restriction?" Probably not. Would you be arrested? Absurd. You can drive without a license and be fined B200 according to this. Reminds me of posters who insist they have to carry their passports at all times and cite Authority. Or those who always go back to Immigration 90-days after their extensions to present their bankbooks, 'cause they got a paper telling them to. Maybe I just like to live dangerously. Up 2 U.
  9. The fine print on the back of the DL gives the issuing office and says nothing about any such restriction and "the holder used a yellow book." In my case, though, I never drive outside of Chonburi anyway. Why would anyone wish to????? That's what Bolt, buses, vans, and planes are for.
  10. As noted, no one considered it a waste of time and I enjoyed myself. Presenting my witnesses with a gift in return for their kindness wasa token of my appreciation that I needn't have given at all, but I'm not ungrateful. Seems you only know P4P--wonder why that is. ???? Yep, as noted I enjoy the various benefits as they arise. And I've already used my yellow book to renew my DL, saving me having to gather documents and make that GAWD-AWFUL trip to Immigration we all hate so much, waiting, and perhaps having to come back the next day. I'll take that B300, too. ???? You keep plodding along and paying, Up 2 U.
  11. You got maybe the sharpest blades on the market. They get better after the first shave. They're also a little stiff. You might try Astra Platinum, medium sharpness, coated. Great all-rounder and good value. Now somewhat overpriced in Thailand but there's: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/made-in-russia-2-astra-superior-stainless-blades-double-edge-i1606160650-s4387536606.html You may inevitably want to go full monty. I'd look on Aliexpress for brushes, good deals and variety on synthetics, almost as good as high-end badger. Lazada has "proper" shaving soap: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/premium-shaving-cream-soap-bar-cactus-joes-ultimate-moisturizing-shave-by-whitebeards-i2418238272-s8316358513.html Some people like face lathering. I never did. Most like making lather in a separate bowl. Big market in those with some beautiful specimens. Don't laugh, but here's the world's best lather bowl for B88: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/hittime-i3603150218-s13480105927.html That'll lather anything and fast. I get a DFS (D_a_mned Fine Shave) in about 5 minutes, one pass with touchups. For a BBS (Baby B_u_tt Smooth) I'll do a light "water pass," just splash water over the slickness remaining on your face and go over it lightly. The biggest tip about using these DE razors is to use little if any pressure. That's what probably caused your nicks. The lightness of razor makes it tempting to press down. Resist, just use the weight of the razor as much as possible. Do a few extra strokes on any rough spots or just do another pass for a closer shave. Welcome to The Art of Shaving. It's part of a lifestyle, ha ha.
  12. The resistance to this old idea is really unbelievable. Dad taught me on his old Gillette safety razor. Switched to high tech Trac II like everyone else when they came out to fanfare and slick marketing. Not bad, really, and easier to use. By that time aerosol shaving foam had achieved dominance among the soaps. Then, in planned obsolescence, Trac IIs started being phased out, blades scarce, in favor of ever more bladed cartridges and overpriced plastic razzmatazz. Enough was enough. The internet, as alternative media and sales channels, greatly facilitated the explosion of interest in traditional wetshaving and incredible growth in sales and products over the last couple of decades.
  13. The ultimate in cost savings, though buying the blades in bulk would be a lot cheaper. The top of the plastic razor will eventually break. Very, very mild shaver. I tried one as a travel razor (locally) once.
  14. You've been advised previously to look for an older building with good management. And to rent in the building before you buy. I believe you have some chance of finding one within your budget, and it will be sufficiently quiet. Our Little Miss Muffets always fantasize that every condo is surrounded by noisy Thais, Chinese, Russians, and drunk mongers coming in all hours of the night. Soi dogs roam the urine-soaked hallways; motorbikes race down them nightly. Etc. But most owners also want a quiet building and don't raise families in their condos, Pattaya a resort area. Good management will enforce noise rules. If not, rent, don't buy, in a more expensive building. Your condo can be soundproofed. I've seen owners do that. Street and hallway noise can be practically eliminated with good UVPC double glazed windows and a security door: http://scorpionsecuritydoors.com/ Incredibly good noise insulation and bombproof against jealous Thai men, lol.
  15. And no doubt they're happy not to waste their time with you. My witnesses, on the other hand, were very kind in offering me their support. We had some nice conversation in the waiting area and at the end I gave them some surprise gifts. Smiles, wais, and happiness all around. Overall I had fun getting mine in Pattaya, joked around w/ all the ladies (gave my phone# to one--still waiting), met the Mayor and his cadres in his swank office overlooking Pattaya Nua, left with smiles and saluted the security guard on the way out, lol. Now I did have go to the USA Embassy in BKK for the certified copy. Luckily I'm one who knows how to enjoy his time in BKK, and so I did. Pleasant memory. Maneerat translator handled the translation and MFA certs, piece o' cake. And I use pink card often, hotel check ins, post office, bank, proof of address, avoiding Certificate of Residence at DLT, and of course not paying condo tax, as I prefer to use that money for other, more worthy purposes.???? OH--lest we soil our knickers--I don't NEED it, but I like the occasional convenience of having it. Point of View is worth 80 IQ points. — Alan Kay
  16. lol. This one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Dkt7zyImk The garbage seems to work pretty well for a lot of people. Yes, they already knew about the ace ANF Nutritional Dogmas of starve 'n' sweat, push away from the table, and whole foods. They didn't work. So, if other methods aren't working, I'd give it a shot. https://reddit.com/r/intermittentfasting/ https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/ It's one part of the new paradigm: The new paradigm for health, fitness, and compression of morbidity: - low carb - intermittent fasting - eggs, meat, fish, full fat dairy, veggies, berries - unrefined fats and oils, low in PUFA or high in Omega 3 - intervals, possibly (say 20 min twice a week) - some walking (say, 30 min 3 times a week) - efficient, intense (Arthur Jones/Mike Mentzer/Ken Hutchins/Doug McGuff) strength training with lighter weights/body weight/bands/suspension trainer - sun (say 15 min 3 times a week) Sun, steak, and steel, as P. D. Mangan says. And sex, my Thai gf adds. So cute.
  17. Yep, it means you may just be a cheat. Good that businesses take some precautions against fraud by the "customers" as well. I've seen some incredibly egregious abuses back in the West, where businesses can better afford it. Still, I've never had any problems returning wrong, defective, or poorly chosen (within the typical 7-day time limit) goods. Now I could have had a lifetime membership to Tony's Gym--but I didn't, as I exercise due caution.
  18. No. Lifecare, as mentioned by @scubascuba3 is the better lab IN PATTAYA with more hours and a published price list and packages. http://lifecare.siam2web.com/
  19. Yeah, if you choose a fake, it needs to be a good fake. Good reviews might suggest it. I once bought something I knew was fake (SO cheap compared to the real thing) and it turned out to be pretty good. Didn't last as long as the real thing, but it could be repaired cheaply if I so chose. I've moved on by now, however.
  20. I do, owing to my living here for decades and reading countless oracular prophecies by our ace forum Economists, Urban Planners, Construction Engineers, and Tourism Authorities that always turn out laughably wrong. Any prediction posted here means the opposite will happen in reality. So it is with yours. As an aside, one of the all-time classics was uttered back in 2009 by one of our most distinguished classical Economists (something of a polymath, actually, with expertise in a number of fields--notably Pavements), now retired and skint. Hear naïveté: Central World is going to fail, just like The Avenues. Anyone stupid enough to build a place that charges Bangkok prices in a small tourist resort town deserves to go bankrupt. This shrewd, assured, gleeful prophecy with the wrong name of the mall was immediately affirmed by another Expert: [Chief Economist] is Right On the facts So it was clear that Central Festival would in fact be a big success. Now, the smart money pays close attention to these Oracular Utterances on our forum. So the stupid Erawan Group soon opened the new Holiday Inn Pattaya. Next year, 7 months after another doom thread, the stupid CPN Pattaya Beach Co. Ltd and the stupid Hilton Hotels & Resorts also foolishly opened the Hilton Pattaya amid all the ruins. LH Mall & Hotel Co., Ltd. (LHMH), seeing all the doom threads on ANF, knew to open Terminal 21, to the usual chorus of sneers. Just to mention a few of the new projects since 2009, mind you.???? Can we construct a reliable Indicator from ANF Poster Prophecies, based on their Eyeballs? Amusingly, it seems so. Shares of CPN, a Pattaya-related company, typically bounce upward after a doom prediction, for example. So after all the COVID FINAL FINAL DOOM prophecies for Pattaya, we can see why big hotels and condos are still going up. But not going up for the baked-beans-on-toast mongers, obviously, renting fleabag rooms over on Soi Buakhao. Their slice of the pie, to use one of our Fundamental Economic Principles, has been shrinking since long before COVID. What with the continued decline in the GB Peso, that trend looks more likely to continue than not. The Authorities have been looking to Asia, India, and Russia. They've been looking for more middle-class tourists and families from the West. Sorry. You seem lost in the same 1995 time warp as so many of our old posters.
  21. I almost always get good customer service, never any problem.
  22. Identify the folder in which your "snips" are being stored. Designate that folder as one of the Favorites in Faststone Viewer. Click on that Favorite whenever you wish to see all your "snips." Sort your "snip" thumbnails in Faststone viewer according to whatever criterion you wish, such as Date. Right-click on the thumbnail of the "snip" and select "Copy Image" to get the entire image in the clipboard. Alternatively you can drag the thumbnail into an application and the "snip" will be pasted wherever you drop it.
  23. Have business travelers in the Asia Pacific never heard of it? How would you know? Presumably the average baked-beans-on-toast monger working as hod carrier in the UK or retired from bricklaying hasn't. Waddling around on Sukhumvit at night, such always smugly assures us he knows "better places" while citing some "issue" from a low street perspective, mainly for trolling purposes.
  24. Yes, in the Options menu you can define a "show window" hotkey.
