Great; let's see the numbers to share in the good news. But we don't know what shape you were in when you were visiting the gym. I see a lot of old fat guys in there. Nor did anyone at any time ever tell you that you had to do only strength training. A comprehensive lab report, and your VO2 Max, will verify what kind of shape you're really in currently.

But there you were loving Live Tiles because M'soft imposed them on you. Thank you, Bill Gates. But then--M'soft discontinued the Live Tiles! WOT??? Actually, all tiles can be got out of your face. Still, the Start menu requires even more time-wasting customization to get more usefulness out of it. The Win 7 Start menu's pretty great as is.

On Windows I prefer MPC-BE because I like the interface better out of the box. I particularly like the pause/resume-on-screen-click feature. It plays all I need it to play. I use VLC on Linux and my Android box (in addition to Kodi, on the latter). Rarely, there's something in particular VLC can do, like hardcode subtitles if I really want to for some reason.

You can decide that for yourself in relation to your own back home. Note I said, "a lot of truth," not an absolute, total, all-singing, all-dancing truth for you to bicker with. Sorry; you were starting to salivate. In the Thai culture case I'm speaking of, health and fitness, most notably including lifting weights, are to this day promoted far less to Thai women than they are in the West to Western women. (Beauty products, different story.) Twenty-two years ago, unheard of here. Hence my gf's "MAN do that." If she was gonna get into the gym, I had to go to a major effort to make it happen. In the West, plenty of available women around into fitness, could meet one at the gym; in fact, it was an old girlfriend there who started me on the road to health & fitness.

Funny. Total Commander has been around since 1993 and has an active support forum. It isn't "molding" anything, any more than the VLC media player molds anything, so that idea is merely clueless. If you thought a Windows Update created an incompatibility with a third-party utility, then you'd simply update the utility or uninstall the utility and wait for either a fix from M'soft or from the vendor. Or you could uninstall the Update until it's fixed. You'd look for any news on the subject, ask in a Win support forum. In short, you wouldn't start clutching your pearls and retire to your fainting couch. It's rare that the incompatibility would create some completely unrelated problem. Windows itself is good at creating those, however. You can go read countless complaints over on reddit: https://reddit.com/r/Windows11/. Me, I'm not scared, just see no reason I should fool around with 11 when I'm happy with 10 and it's already optimized for me.

No. But they'll buy one eventually. No big rush, as Win 11 continues profitable and updating, its market share growing. Yah, same old pattern. If it were going to "flop," it would have already. It's received little of the vitriol that quickly ended WinMe, Vista, and Win 8. That's 'cause M'soft learned something from those debacles. Win 11 is in fact a worthy, if unneeded, successor to 10. You can continue using Win 10 w/o security updates. Our experts will play the scary music if you do that, however. Be afraid.

Hardly. But if you really want to stay with Win 10 longer, install Win 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC and get extended support until 2032. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-iot-enterprise-ltsc-2021

Recent study finding the benefits of starting late. The solid green line shows a sudden upward slope when exercise started at age 65. Dotted lines = more, or less. https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/10.1146/annurev-med-070119-115343

Difficult to find, however. Most girls don't just as most men don't. They end up enabling each other's ill health, as with the OP and his wife. My gf was doing nothing about her health & fitness at first. She didn't want to go to a gym. "MAN do that," she said. We've laughed at that statement over the years. Took a lot of work & patience on my part to convince her to get fit. Once she did, she wanted to stay that way, as people do. I also had to work with her a lot on her diet. She may be the only Thai in the country to go low carb. Decades ago, when I came to Thailand as a tourist, I ran across an expat in a bar who told me, Nothing happens in Thailand until you make it happen. Lot of truth in that.

I've never bothered w/ Windows Explorer, always used Total Commander, one of my essential utilities. Big jobs, I put in the background and carry on with other stuff. Tracks amount copied in realtime. Customizable toolbar, so I have icons linked to folders, scripts, and programs. Appearance customizable, lots of options. Tabbed in both panes. Can be portable, so I also have it on a utilities thumbdrive.

Google isn't hiding the locations of those cities and will give detailed directions from one's location. No need to address the obvious unless asked specifically. You need to back off. You're way out of line.

Always a ton of debloating and tweaking to do. Stop as much telemetry as possible. Get rid of Cortana, stop internet search, etc. Yeah, what's with that. I use MPC-BE. For images, Faststone Image Viewer. PDFs, PDF-XChange. Browsing, Firefox Developer and others. Music, foobar; I see Winamp's finally got an update and release. 'Course, you have to fight M'soft for the default everything. Wheel Here's been around since 2012. http://moochos.nobody.jp/en/software/wheelhere/index.html. Still works. Never really needed that. But some laptops have their own utilities. Anyway, there's Battery Limiter freeware: https://www.robotonfire.com/bl/

Gf and I are both in great shape 22 years later, tight bellies. We both diet and work out. She also does yoga. She was somewhat overweight when I met her, so, under my influence, she's followed the opposite course from your wife. We have it less often than we did, but it's always great. The quality has vastly improved from when we first started partly because she's in much better shape but also because I've learned what really turns her on. She's always loved sex more than the average woman. Every relationship has its ups and downs, unavoidable. Most old people don't enjoy getting older. However, we've managed to slow the aging process about as much as we can, not suffering any debilitating health problems or loss of mobility so far

Evidence suggests otherwise. You've overlooked the maggots as well. Hunter-gatherers and small-scale farmers everywhere commonly ate putrid meat, fish and fatty parts of a wide range of animals. From arctic tundra to tropical rainforests, native populations consumed rotten remains, either raw, fermented or cooked just enough to singe off fur and create a more chewable texture. Many groups treated maggots as a meaty bonus. --A surprising food may have been a staple of the real Paleo diet: rotten meat An interesting read and one that may engender gratitude that we live in modern times.

Very bold of you. Expect to be called a caveman by our cutting-edge hi-tech gurus. But that way you may be able to avoid the ads. As mentioned in the beginning, this month's preview update also comes with a new set of notifications (that some might describe as ads), which will show up in the sign-out flyout of the Windows 11 Start menu. "This update introduces notifications for Microsoft accounts in the Start menu. This is only available to a small audience right now," Microsoft explains. "It will deploy more broadly in the coming months. Some devices might notice different visual treatments as we gather feedback." --Windows 11 KB5023778 update adds promotions to the Start menu Hee.

Chip first, OS second. AMD and M'soft have to coordinate. But M'soft has traditionally favored Intel. Windows 11 bug is randomly freezing PCs with AMD CPUs

Rutnin in BKK is the best. Dr. Roy's the man. However, you probably don't need the best quite yet, and one of the hospital eye clinics should be OK. Public hospital, Queen Sirikit has a great opthamologist, but it may take a while to get an appt. w/ her. Two trips would be needed, and then there's the inevitable wait time at the clinic. I believe someone said she also works at Pattaya Memorial. I may be mistaken, however.

When the farang do gooders take over
BigStar replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
An amusing statement in light of the COVID and vaccines debacle. Political qualifications override the medical. Reminds me of a tweet I read this morning. My son works in a hospital as a medical technologist. Since working there he said he’s terrified about me ever getting sick and needing hospitalization. -

Or by legacy media even when it is thrust in their faces as they in turn thrust it in yours. Part of the agenda, and the agenda is the problem. -
Thailand is no longer the Land of smiles.
BigStar replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Eventually, an old bigot loser suffers inevitable disillusionment. He'd washed up in Thailand expecting smiles and servility for a few peanuts thrown at the primitive, dark natives. Alas, paradise doesn't live up to the fantasy. It isn't LOS. That said, I get smiles everywhere I go. Before an interaction, I smile first and offer a pleasant Sawasdee krab, correctly pronounced. And it's immediately returned. I've shown myself not one of the usual idiots or potentially a PIA. It all goes pleasantly thereafter. Everything you do in life will go better if you can get along with people. That includes with Thais. -
Oh, at the bars and restos of Phuket, as you said. The "press" about the Russians being rude, standoffish, etc. is actually just hot air from bigoted ANF forum posters, again mostly Brits. Like other groups, Germans are more populous in certain areas, and I happen to live in one, so I know whereof I speak. You don't know of any such areas. And you evidently haven't been to any of the German restos in Phuket, where you may also listen for, say, Brummie or Geordie. Or, for that matter, Russian restos. So that omission rather underlines my point. In fact, you only referenced English speakers in your post, and may have simply embellished the truth anyway about the supposed "international" groups. Your other pretended "interests" are irrelevant to my point.

Naughty foreigners record 180 criminal charges this year in Phuket
BigStar replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Oh, I'm open. I'll point your superfluous personal definitions outside the scope of the topic as I please. You're welcome.
