Let the excuses for our lad begin.

I was bored out of my mind in Pattaya
BigStar replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Just part of the wallpaper. Don't even notice them as I pass by bar areas on my way to somewhere else. I don't sit at bars and listen to any blather. That would be boring and time-wasting. Nonsense. Been here more than 20 years now, still enjoy the place and my life. Funny. But come to think of it, maybe it's your Third Eye that tells you the barflies are miserable when in fact they're just enjoying themselves. Self-medication is one of our accepted, orthodox, common practices. I very much enjoy having a good laugh at the expense of our bigots and whinging grannies clutching their pearls. It's also fun to tweak our know-it-all Brit royalty. Good entertainment, been so since the forum started up in 2003 or so. Now amid the constant bashing that gives life meaning for our posters and affirms their superiority over Thais, we don't have as much doom-sayin' and dire prophecies to laugh at as we once did. It may be that their absurdity has become all too obvious. Yet none of the old prophecies has expired. One our greatest Economists, still posting, is waiting for the bankruptcy of Central Festival predicted in 2009. And we must have an ace Engineer, who didn't yet jump from a balcony on Soi Buakhao, hoping every rainy season for The Tunnel finally to flood. -

The media lies about Pattaya even more than ANF posters. Repeating those lies, and believing them, just makes things worse for you. -

Well, but you left Pattaya for relief, before you could buy that gym you were talking about owning. No doubt in the Phils you'll again suffer from that uncomfortable puckered sphincter. In the end, Oz is really the only place for you. The rest, usual dreams. Meanwhile, it's another fine day to be in Pattaya. 🙂 -
Good on 'em then. No communication to me, just did their job. I think I got back the new passport in about 2 weeks, though. This was 4 years ago. I got the passport photos at a shop recommended here for doing them, across the soi on the north side of Central Marina. Guy evidently did know what he's doing.

A non-sequitur. The miserable people in Pattaya are miserable because they're miserable. Others are not miserable, but you imagine that you would be miserable if you were they, though you're already miserable because you're miserable. Plenty of happiness all over Pattaya, including in central Pattaya. If you can't see it, but you imagine you NEED to see what you think is happiness before YOU can be happy, then, yes, of course go wherever you think all the happy people are. Pattaya isn't responsible for anyone's misery; that's on you. Nobody's keeping you here. Trouble is, you won't move and make excuses for not doing so. Nobody wants you to walk around Pattaya with that perpetually puckered sphincter. I've long encouraged you (and others w/ the problem) to leave and suggested a perfect place. You claimed you want to live alone in a cabin like the Unabomber, and it's trivial to find one, but again you like hanging here and whining. -

In fact, they do have other problems that would achieve expression wherever they found opportunity. At home, opportunity might be less owing to family or responsibilities or some sort of support network. Yet most big cities in the West have areas where the depressed gravitate. Miami, for example, one of the happiest cities in the USA, also has bar areas full of retirees who spend their days drinking and talking sh*it with their fellow drunks. And they're happy doing just that. They don't visit museums or go to concerts as our disaffected on the forum fantasize about doing themselves--but never would either. -

Thought about it, decided an enjoyable, practical lifestyle could be had in Pattaya. I was right. 🙂 You keep insisting that's all there is to do in Pattaya. That merely reflects your own limitation as a boring person. I wasn't, and plenty of people aren't. Why didn't you attend any of the expat club meetings? Many only go back for the health insurance or "free" schooling for the kids. Many, such as yourself and our other chronic whingers, aren't happy anywhere. Others, esp. the bigots, can't adjust to a different culture. Others, notably the windbags, succumb to infection by the horrid, brain-eating Whither Pattaya? and Whither Thailand? space monkeys. The only cure is to return to a nanny state, notably the paradise of the UK. Any members so doing are deliriously happy thereafter and end their perpetual bashing of Thailand. Threads about boredom in Pattaya are hardly anything new--posters seem to think it means they themselves are exciting and others are reponsible for entertaining them--and many posters in the past have affirmed they aren't in the least bored and do find plenty to do, as in When boredom starts to rule the day, I Love Pattaya, and Why live in Pattaya? Potential retirees might read through them to counteract the negativity, fearmongering, and swill served up by our trolletariat. If you have half a brain and interests, enjoy characters study, get along well with Thais, etc., Pattaya will do nicely as a retirement haven w/o the bar scene or the excessive drinking. Retiring in Pattaya just as elsewhere hardly means you're imprisoned in Pattaya as insisted. It's also a base for travels elsewhere. Yet, whenever I travel, I find myself happy to return home here in our beloved cesspoool, ha ha. Deal with it. -
Aliexpress. Read the product instructions & reviews. First order one of the item for the initial size check. You can search explicitly for big size or large sizes, that often state "European sizing." Other things are Asian sized but range into large enough for Western customers.

I put a note asking why among my papers, and it was immediately handed back to me w/o comment. Next time I'll type the note at the top of the application form itself. I think whoever's approving needs to know I'm asking, anyway. -
Games are programs, and like all programs contain the data they require to run. So it isn't your data that you've created. Games aren't data. You can upload your installed files, your extra mods, and your saved games to google drive, but you have to do so manually, not "automatically" by simply "using Chrome" as you claimed in your OP.🤣 So again, it's NOT a matter of just logging into Chrome and being assured your games, mods, & save game files that you created during your game play are saved AUTOMATICALLY as you were claiming. Try to get that straight. But not automatically by Steam or anyone else. (I don't think you know what a saved game file is. It's NOT the game itself.) By you, manually, and NOT by just "logging into Chrome." Just logging into Chome saves any new Chrome settings you make. IF you use Gmail on the web, or IMAP, or don't download via a POP email client, then your gmail messages are stored on Gmail's servers UNLESS you run out of space. You always ignore that point and fail to mention that you have to PAY for extra space. And that's ALL you get by just logging into Chrome on your PC. Any other data, you save manually SOMEWHERE, and you even pay to do so. Nor do you need Chrome to login to Google drive. Steam does NOT store your saved games on its servers. It saves them on your own PC, often in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Userdata. If you back them up MANUALLY somewhere, NOT by just "using Chrome," then obviously they're wherever that is. But I don't you do, as you don't know what they are, exactly. IF you've stored them there yourself. And you can login via any browser. If you lose your iPhone, you're not going to get anything back from your Google drive except what you've manually stored there. iPhone doesn't automatically backup to Google, and Chrome isn't going to help you. Not if you're using an iPhone, you don't. As for Gmail, you'll eventually run out of space unless you pay for more space. So that's not really "you're safe long as you use Chrome." Moreover, on an Android phone, the backing up isn't because you're using Chrome. The Google Android apps do the backing up of a few kinds of data, e.g., photos. Enough with the cluelessness.

Answer: You Don’t Need to Buy Antivirus Software Nonsensical resort to a straw man argument. Keep asking, keep getting the same answer until a mod helps you exit your loop, as they have before. -
I hope so, too. I had thought that last time my online form was rejected because they wanted hard evidence of my address as an update. I visited the IO and got the new slip. But last week they rejected my online form for "wrong reentry date/visa date." WTF? Those dates were right. The visa date isn't required anyway. I printed out a new TM47 and the passport pages, went down there again today. I also put in a little note asking WHAT dates did they want me to fill in on the online form. The note was immediately passed right back to me w/o comment. 🙂 But I was in and out in 20 min. True, they aren't friendly at that desk. But that's OK, cut 'em some slack in that miserable job.
