  1. I have been told that there is a shop near Sirison Electronic Store, that has Helium...

I cannot place it in my mind, but toward Tesco and the last building before the empty lot.. then there is a road that turns to the left... I think the one that goes to the International Hospital? (The shop is on the Ring Road, before that)

Apparently gas tanks sitting out side.

Hope that is not just a bunch of "hot air" :D but might be worth checking out!

thanks for the tip Jimmy! i'll try and get over that way today to confirm.

Shop called M & E. Advise to learn the Thai name for Helium or at least the correct pronunciation.

unfortunately, no luck at M&E. and the correct terminology after visiting half a dozen of these shops around the island is certainly not "helium"

    it's "gas balloon"

  3. i'm on the edge of my seat here. it wasn't so much that i didn't have any idea what was going on that bothers me but rather the fact that the events surrounding the event that i don't know of might not in fact be in any way shape or form significant to the other that bothers me.

quite a compelling introduction to a story you've told there big c. i'm trimming my nails right now just to prevent me from chewing them while i wait for the plot to develop.

  4. Ive searched for this on torrents a few times, and again just now. But all I find is the one link, with no seeders.

If anyone does find anything Id really appreciate a PM with a link to it please.

it's really not that difficult to find. i think the biggest issue for most people who casually search for a file like this don't realize that you're not getting the same product that you'd get in the box. rosetta stone is a pretty effective program, i've used it to study a number of different languages back in the days when they had an unlimited language training monthly package for 19.99

if you don't buy it in the box, you don't get the workbooks, the ability to record your own speech and you have to have to have the ability to take the r.s. file extension image and mount it to a disc for playback. most average people wont get much out of downloading this program.

  5. When you receive a condo title, it is a Chanote. The Chanote is for your apt size ie 35sqm. The condo titles are all produced on the same day, at building completion, the land office converts the main land chanote into many small chanotes as mentioned. If there are presales then the titles will be issued in the name of the buyer, if not, then the developer or company will own them until transfer. You cannot have any land title prior to building completion and issuance of condo titles. I have seen the process and seen the titles, not for this project, bot others.

can the chanotes be in the forang's name?

yes of course. this is the only acceptable ownership available to a foreigner here.

  6. Just wondering what would happen if you went in with the exact money to pay your bill !

would they refuse and send you away ? would they credit your account and leave 5 baht unpaid, thus going onto next bill ?

I understand that it's nothing to do with the 5 baht but lets get real here and say, hey what would happen if it was 20 baht or 50 baht, you the customer would be held to ransom.

Imagine going to tesco and buying 500 bahts worth of grocerys, yes sir thats 505 baht please ,,, why ? cos we charge every one to pay their bill's on time with cash.

    only 5 baht but ridiculous

I think you should waste their time and money and ask for a seperate invoice for the 5 baht,,, if everyone asks for an invoice it would be a right pain in the A**e for em

may only be 5 baht but that's egregious afaic. good suggestion for the separate invoice. i don't use tt&t but i am always on the lookout for these hidden fees.

  7. going by a email from the assistant sale manager 35 baht per sq metre 500 baht per sq for the sinking fund

the unit seem small at 26 sq and also have to buy a furniture package at 200000 b so brings the price up to 928000 plus the adde expenses

still seem ok as well as chanote title

I would check the Chanote bit,,, I was unaware that a chanote was available on a condo.

of course you can get a chanote on a condo, that's the whole selling point for foreigners. the entire condo building is literally chopped up into separate chanote's. thais must own 51% and foreigners can own up to 49%.

  8. driving home from the temple last night there was quite an accident in mae nam. a car had turned over onto its driver side doors after leaving the ring road, coming to rest in front of someones house or shop. i drove through before the first ambulance had arrived and quite a crowd had started to gather so i drove through and expected thai visa to come through for me with details.

    anyone?

  9. i've never heard of anything happening in FV directly. there will be thousands of people around chaweng lake, so many that you'll need to plan well in advance for parking and walking. i usually take the family to a certain wat that has a lake, as it has fewer people and what we think is a great atmosphere for this type of event.

  10. i was having lunch at fuji today and every table was occupied. had never seen that before in the 5 years i've been having lunch or dinner there. even after finishing my lunch and shopping at tesco, i walked past fuji again to get to my car outside home pro and the entire restaurant was still fully occupied.

what this has to do with anything, i don't know. just thought it odd that so many people were here in november i guess.

  11. well of course i hope any innocent person involved is ok but honestly that just sounds like any other day on samui's roads. you have to be careful here.

i've seen 3 accidents on the same drive between the bophut traffic light and the maenam market. 3 separate accidents within just a few minutes.

whoever was driving the truck trying to pass on a blind turn however, i hope he or she falls off the face of the earth.

  12. As to why Julie does not post here, it could be that she realizes that this avenue of discourse adds nothing to the situation except innuendo, nonsense, speculation and misinterpretation.

troll troll troll your boat, gently down the stream.

Actually, I disagree. I've seen threads where business people post and threads where they don't and it doesn't make a bit of difference to the armchair sherlocks.

disagree all you want. your opinion makes not a bit of difference to me. as someone that has used that particular visa run service in the past multiple times, i will cast judgment with my baht and let the chips fall where they may.

  13. my son is coming to thailand around the 8th november ,his travel agent advised going to phuket as opposed to bkk,but better if he missed thailand completly and went somewhere else,he's coming to see me but if there telling everyone the same thing i think people will rethink coming here for sure ....

The travel agent sounds perfectly sensible. I wouldn't advise anyone to travel to Samui in November. Any other month yes.

ya agree with smokie there. if i was a travel agent and wanted repeat business i would do the same thing. reminds me of the time many years ago now where i was sitting in the restaurant in that spa hotel and there was an english lady at the table next to me complaining bitterly about songkran and "how could these people ruin my expensive new dress".

now i suppose the travel agent could have told her about songkran and it just went in one ear and out the other, but i know i'd appreciate any inside info related to weather and events specific to any dates i might be traveling. if i ignore that advice, well the thai's have a phrase for that don't they.
