Thais never break the law whilst overseas for fear of tarnishing their reputation. Never ever steal from each other.
you have got to be kidding. who is doing human trade in malaysia and so many thais have been caught offending. but this does not refer to thais alone. every society has some elements who are not desirable.

CCTV is great if you use it. This was shot January 7, she posted this February 11. Those tourists are long gone back to their freezing cold Countries with shit food and weather. Memories of Thailand.
why bring personalities into it. punish the offenders rather than commenting on the countries they come from.

Apart from the dramatic contrast in offending, how does footage sit stacked against the volumes of crimes perpetrated against Farang.
Pathaetic people.
two wrongs do not make a right. there is no reason to condone shoplifting .
-
i am anti shoplifting as i am aware that the shopkeeper has so many overheads to cover and a theft of a shop item leaves them in a very difficult spot to cover expenses and make some money for the family expenses. such an act should not go unpunished.

Many foreigners are not good people? About as accurate as farang Thai-bashers. Just brush everyone with same tarnished brush. Sheesh!

and they will be kicked out of business on the next day. because they broke the regulation.
why don't you show an example of "ignoring officials" by entering Thailand without visa, for example? they are money grabbers! why do you have to pay for visa - you are entitled to enter everywhere for free!
not quite true. many countries are charging visa fee.
Just now, jdf2231 said:Well, there is differential pricing for the same thing. If they really needed the extra 270 THB (300-30), charge everyone 40 THB... lol. Why charge 5% of your visitors 10x when you can charge 100% of the visitors 10 baht more. No one complains at the end of the day.
that is far more sensible.

Fortunately they've made enough already to pay for their own funeral! Rest in Shame!
if it is some consolation India is charging the foreigners up to twenty five times the domestic tickets for their attractions.

I came to Hua Hin on the 1st of this month, as I often do every during the year. Lots of tourists, especially Chinese here. But this time I noticed a hugh jump in the price of food, at least in the local Thai restaurants..... double the usual price in most of the ones we (my Thai wife) have been to so far
inevitable due to supply and demand.

346 people? At first there were talks about 150!!
Anyway, if during the 'free' period a 100 people joined the free rides, I guess that number will fall drastically as soon as the paid rides kick off.
I feel the numbers will pick up if the ferry service is on time and efficient. the time savings to commute between the two destinations will make it worth it.
-
There is no point talking passenger numbers at this stage.
Let the ferry run and monitor the numbers thereafter. If the ferry service is good the numbers will inevitably pick up due to due to time and money savings, plus giving visitors an opportunity to visit two destinations within a reasonable budget. Right now the focus should be to run an effective service.

Not just Pattaya, don't wear jewelry on the street anywhere, anytime.
I feel it is OK to wear jewellery but it should be suitable covered so that it does not attract attention easily.

As it seems to be more profitable for the BiB's to clear beaches from deck chairs, this will continue.
it is a vicious circle - you have to open up many layers to tackle it. try banging the offenders HARD and it will work to a great extent.

Why don't people learn stealing is wrong. Being able to buy such items comes with hard work. The reason people still steal is the punishment is way too soft in many cultures. I apprehended a thief while in Singapore by the time it came for me to make a second interview with police to be given a citizen commendation. The guy was serving 3 years with no parole. Tried to deny it was him on cctv & refused to regret his crime no mercy from the judge he also faced deportation after sentence served (result) plus the roughing up he received trying to evade my capture.
a nail on the head. of course thanks to Singapore for its policies. crime still does exit but it is not rampant.

Don't go to Pattaya...just too much of a risk.
Are you suggesting sitting at home. No man, go but dress up in such way that no attention is attracted.
-
Pattaya again. Pattaya must be a sure winner for crime.
A word of advise to tourists - DO NOT wear flashy jewellery that attracts attention. Have it suitable covered up while going out in public places. If they can not see it they will attempt to snatch.

You would have thought that an experienced gold dealer would have been able to tell it was fake just by its weight and feel in his hand.
Specific gravity of gold 19.3
Specific gravity of silver 10.5
i am not sure whether we are talking of density. alloys can be made to different densities and gold coated.
-
is pattaya covered by the media extensively or is it a hub of crime? every other thing seems to be happening there. it is surprising that experienced gold traders got conned. there are ways of identity gold purity with very simple tests.

"According to Kenway’s Facebook account, he and his wife, Somporn Kenway, recently had a child.
Somporn told reporters Tuesday that he had no history of conflict with anyone, thought she mentioned he had a “business dispute” with a former company partner."
If he was such a great father and family man, why didn't he make an honest living instead of creating a widow and a brood of fatherless children.
