Idiocy and paranoidal attacks are normal for White House. Trump said there spyware embedded into Chinese motherboards for servers Supermicro - the biggest competitor of Intel. Now (actually long time already)Kapersky. How is it difficult to reverse it? No, better just bark - DANGER, RUSSIANS ARE COMING! Well, since illiterate nomads flew high tech Boeings into steel towers and melted them with kerosene nothing would surprise me

Thailand expects 42 billion boost from French tourists post-Olympics
NativeBob replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
On France24 I saw Minister of Sports and Ann Hidalgo swam in Seine. Priceless! Ooops! There's a price: 2,500,000,000 euros to clean it. Seine is not that big river. Why 2.5bln? My wild guess is 2,5 billions should be enough to clean all klongs of Mahanakorn including the River of Kings. Parisians are outraged with such budget and they promised to piss in Seine. -
Today's interview on MSNBC was so scary my cat crawled under the bed: "I'm that kind of guy that blah" "I'm that guy that blew-blew" "I'm the guy who does "shmuky-dooky" With the smile of that python Kaa from the book "Mowgli" hypnotizing monkeys - playing with his voice, whispering and hissing. And suddenly he leaned toward with frozen look and vicious smile. Yes, just like that python Kaa. What was it? It was utterly sinister and scary.

What is "river tubing" after farangs begin to wonder in their underwear confronting local culture and sneaking for sexual activities? We have to stop this with regular police checks and fines! Seriously, what a disrespect!- 105 replies

How many hours from Phuket to Bangkok by train?
NativeBob replied to Conan The Barbarian's topic in General Topics
Night train from Hat Yai leaves at 5PM (I might be wrong but about that time) We had to checkout from wonderful hotel with huge TV and brand new make over. So we roamed around on that heat for almost 4 hours - not much pleasure I'd say The train was from the past, I guess ~50 years old, but well maintained Restaurant had crazy prices - we didn't eat whole trip but there was water @ 250ml Bang Sue railway station is scary, but that was close to MRT Over all I'd rather take super VIP 24 seats couch and sit on the second floor with scenic views than on the train, which one derailed while I was on it. Not funny -

According my observation on the treatment burmese "labor" by thai employers at factories (rather workshops as they were not actually employed) it was very ugly. They treated them like a livestock, subhumans, very disrespectful. -

Obviously he demanded salary and they refused and probably offended him. Working in abusive condition under some 64 years old Iranian dude and his obnoxious thai tilak. I don't have a second thought - they treated him like <deleted> and they got their "reward". -

Very true! The surgeon I knew told me that once they got good one they won't stop to "augmenting" themselves. And that works wonders! If you can afford it and the surgeon is good >>>> why night? PS: there's a market of second hand implants from crematoriums. FYI

sounds like a true and obvious statement. I tried to read her "article" and that was a disaster. or what they called "Markoff generated". Obviously some $$$ were involved. Doctorate thesis? Please!

Je pardon, did you visit labs and talk with "lectures"? about 20 years I went to Ramkamheng University. It looked seriously unfunded and sad. I'm talking about July 2024. Oh no, August 2023 it was really cool. Update, sorry I've been taking away from the main subject. sorry. My point is your daughter has to stay with you. Period. -

Me judge on my own experience and that is first hand one. Also I mentioned in-class relationships last (PPS), obviously less important to main subject. -

Well, we did research and found that high (Masters) education is just mind blowing. Yes, in Thailand. Mahidoll, KMUTT and a couple of others (don't want to share). Somehow things changed: 20 years ago they used "donated" devices and equipment but since our visit last year - everything changed BIGGLY. PS: I'm writing about applied sciences, not business administrations, arts and political science. Real science, Oppenheimer's level. PPS: and social environment - teachers, lectures, professors are hyper friendly with students. Amazing! Just like small and very cozy families. Not "pizza for everyone" but the real one. True "love". -

good point. Generalization su*ks. The gamut is huge - from posh "never fail" International schools to old-schools in China Town of Bangkok. We were lucky with primary school and somehow "unlucky" with secondary. I'd say avoid International and bilinguals, find some old school with "traditions" and minimum of "teecha Steeve" clowns. they are useless. And yes, old schools do have very strict rules from respect to teachers to parents and elders. Agree 100% -

banning order was something my friend had to deal with. His GF (and mother of his kid) issue some very simple and very efficient letter to block kid from leaving the Kingdom. so, she milked him like crazy on promises to withdraw that letter. -

Forget stupid house, do everything you can to keep daughter with you, otherwise your ex will "park" her in some remote village and her future will vanish. Oh, and education system even in Bangkok is abysmal. Even Singaporean Int. School (so many are proud of) is trashy. Friend's son went to Regents later to Assumption. Couldn't put 2 words together in English and can't speak thai.
