  1. There's really only one thing I like, or love, the app for: turning on the aircon remotely five minutes before getting into the car. I suppose checking the tyre pressures remotely is quite handy, but that's about it. Not sure if the EP has iSmart.
  2. In my experience, there’s no difference in power between flooring it in Eco or Sport modes. Both accelerate at the same rate. The difference is the response is more smooth in Eco. Note: my car is the older model and things could be different in the latest, although I doubt it.
  3. There are three modes: Eco/Normal/Sport. Sport has the most responsive accelerator pedal, Eco the least. So it, supposedly, makes you drive less aggressively and therefore save battery. I believe the Aircon is supposed to be not as cool on Eco, but I have never noticed any difference.
  4. This may have been true in years past, but things have changed and, these days, lots of Chinese stuff is excellent. Just a couple of examples: Xiaomi electronics. My MG EV.
  5. Sorry, I made a mistake above. It should read: You’ll notice it will change if you change your Mode settings or turn off/on your AC.
  6. This is the predicted remaining range based on your recent driving. Sometimes called the GOM - Guess-O-Meter. You’ll notice it will change if you change your KERS settings or turn off/on your AC.
  7. In case you don’t know and are wondering what the “AC 1x16A (3.7kW) 13h30m” in your chart above refers to, some hotels in Thailand have AC wallboxes that are only 3.7kW. That's the only places I've come across them.
  8. Opinions on this vary. Certainly, wallbox and granny are better for your battery than rapid DC charging.
  9. To add to this. I have read lots about the MGZS EV on a couple of UK forums since getting my car over 3 years ago. Plenty of UK owners use only granny charging at home.
  10. Granny charging is not only for emergencies. You do not need a 7.4Kw wallbox. Granny charging is perfectly safe using the supplied cable. If you need to use an extension, keep it as short as possible, fully unwound and designed to handle 16A, max load 3500w. I carry a 20 meter extension with me for hotels that have no charging docks.
  11. If my memory of 'A-level' physics and chemistry from 54 years ago is correct, I think you mean to say "because it's the smallest of all atoms." There's no such thing as a molecule of hydrogen; it's an element. Edit: I just Googled this, and maybe I'm wrong and it is possible to have a molecule of hydrogen. Sorry!
  12. Looking forward to your review of the car. I'll be very surprised if you don't love it.
  13. I don't know about all dealerships, but on one occasion I charged a non-MG car at an MG charging dock at a dealership - one of the red, DC ones. There is a red MG one in the car park of a hotel in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Presumably, that one can be used by any car.
  14. Ah! I'm now thinking that they just told me that it was my fault that the battery was flat and, in actual fact, the battery was faulty - hence them giving me a brand new one at no charge. Makes sense!
  15. I have owned a ZS EV for over 3 years. No problems except when I failed to sign out of the app and the 12v battery went flat. An MG mechanic came to the house and installed a new battery - no charge. I thought this was very odd, but great.
  16. This is not correct. You think every car that Porsche Bangkok sells gets the same red plate with the same number? Codswallop!
  17. You cannot trust this site to give accurate Thai prices. For example: If you check their price for a Porsche Taycan, they quote about 50% of the Thai price. They just take the US price and convert to baht. Note: I'm not saying those quoted BYD prices are definitely wrong, just that they may be.
  18. Yes, but I'm not sure if that will be adopted as the standard nomenclature; it doesn't quite roll of the tongue! If it ends up that wall box is commonly used, Wallbox (the company) will be very pleased. A bit like Hoover and Tannoy. I like charging dock.
  19. Some clarification regarding wall boxes and chargers: Wall boxes are very often referred to as chargers. They are not chargers. The chargers are in the cars. A wall box provides power at a higher rate than a standard three-pin plug socket.
  20. I guess you deliberately didn't mention the cell balancing the MG does after reaching 100% charge. No point unnecessarily complicating this thread. Oops! I just did! I could be wrong, but I think MG is the only EV that balances the cells automatically after being charged to 100%.
