Why do people want to live in Isaan?

Please lose the camera before you post again. -
Thanks for that I haven't got a a Lotus nearby, basically Tops and Maxvalu. I'll try the Lotus in On Nut. Ta again.

The first three above then any one or two from cauliflower, broccoli, potato plus half a knorr cube and a tin of tuna. Kept me going for long enough after bad health. Had it often enough before but not every day.

Sort of related to Thai bread, I haven't seen any blackberry jam around for over a year. Blueberry jam yes and nowt wrong with it but for me the blackberry was best.

In my opening post I said that I was curious whether whole wheat is correct in this context and whether colouring is involved. From the explanations I take it that (a) is not really and (b) rather not say. I appreciate all the responses, suggestions and discussion. Not being a bread purist I don’t envisage making my own, but made a rare trip to Villa and acquired a loaf of organic pumpkin.bread.This clearly states no added artificial and 100% natural ingredients. Admittedly my Thai is minimal but I do not see sugar amongst the listed ingredients. Seems fine to me. The quoted dates are 13/7 and 18/7.

Do You Avoid Other Foreigners You Meet in Thailand?
saintdomingo replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Living in a Nakhon for a while I was amused by the farang response to seeing another in the street, look through them, past them, above them, beyond them but do NOT make eye contact. But I became friends with a number of farang there and still am. I am also still on friendly terms with people I got to know in a bar in Pattaya close to 30 years ago and seeing some for a drink there this weekend. -
Thanks for all the interesting responses. Not been in Bartels for a while so it's due another call. Holeys and Conkeys are new to me so I'll look them up and try them next week. Not ate much UK white bread for many decades, it tasted like a mixture of cardboard and sawdust once you've tried the alternative.

A few years ago I checked a Tesco wholewheat loaf in Lotus and that had 4% sugar. Don't know if that was good or bad.

It shouldn't cost more (or much more) than 50 baht from a soi vendor so get stuck in and give it a go. Pay the extra for a fried egg. And tell them not very spicey.

Anyone got any knowledge or opinions on whole wheat bread in Thailand. I am assuming it is whole wheat and not just colouring. Both the mass produced brands in 7 are OK for sandwiches but Cubic wheat meal at 69 baht for 9 or 10 slices is very very nice just with plenty of butter on. (I have to walk to maxvalu for this) There is a lot of choice now in 7, I've recently tried pumpkin bread and quinoa both good.

Another tiresome, predictable post which ignores the fact that the "drinking community" like to drink in licensed premises such as bars and resto's. Alcoholics like to stock up and sit and drink alone, not social drinkers.

Psychiatric treatment. -
And 47 baht each way on the BTS to Chula. But I am not turning this into a competition and thank you khun chiangrai for your post. The upper abdomen segment of my scans was I think 7700 not including contrast etc. Chula is a government hospital but not cheap anymore so everyone tells me. The good news from my scans was that the tumour/mass is gone, kidneys, liver, pancreas, spleen are all normal size. The bad is that I have a hiatal hernia which I did not know about and as nobody has mentioned it (I read it in the report/ printout) I take it I can live with it for the moment at least.

Waking with a clear head and the rest of the body in sync does it for me. No hospital appointments helps enormously as does having financial stability. Now it's pushing 7.30, time for a shower, do some laundry, get the paper go for a cup of coffee or two (after getting dressed) and remember how good it is not having to go to work.
-
I fully agree with you Lou.
-
And the return flight to the UK for a free scan would cost.?
-
Been quoted 27,200 for CT Scans of Larynx, chest and upper abdomen at a government hospital in central Bangkok. This includes non-ionic contrast and multiphase. Doctor consultations will be extra. I only just realised all the above posts were years old.

Everyone has to start somewhere and perhaps the competition will sharpen him up. Next thing you'll both be ringing the bell in LK.
