  1. As ever, thanks Sheryl.
  2. Thanks carlyai, I was getting conflicting information from the hospital and then from their own literature. But I do need the protein to put weight back on so it probably makes sense.
  3. Sheryl, due to a throat problem I am currently feeding through a tube in my nose which takes food straight to the stomach. The food is Ensure and I am unclear about the daily safe amount. Is 48 scoops OK.? Apparently about 480 gm. Thanks in advance.
  4. Used to be very easy from Singapore or Malaysia to UK or European ports but they stopped taking passengers during covid and I don't think have started again. Try The Cruise People London or Google freighter travel.
  5. At 17 posts a day he also gets plenty of practice.
  6. It gets busy, there's another one in a few minutes and you're at the front of the queue.
  7. I believe a lot of the bars and the chippy were demolished a few years ago in Subic, never been but people rated the Midniight Rambler.
  8. Some years ago there was a pinned thread, which never produced a consensus. Long term residency was the main stumbling block. For Americans Panama and Puerto Rico looked favourite. I just don't see your three doing it for the Brits though I am looking at it from the low budget angle. I have looked into Greece, great place but..
  9. I did not realise how complicated it could get. If you are not a Thai speaker or have one with you almost every step of the way it must be very, very difficult for a lengthy treatment.
  10. Cancer treatment is quick to start in Thailand even in a government hospital, though not cheap. But then I didn't go shopping around I just wanted to get started. Thanks for your post.
  11. Nice place but the ale isn't cheap and there's no decent rooms for say £50/£70 a week.
  12. What would constitute "hits the fan".?
  13. Have you remembered the referendum yet and the majority vote that was against independence. Possibly you may remember the various "Better Together" rallies, demonstrations, parades or whatever they were officially termed. Very proud and patriotic Scottish people on them.
  14. Similar thing happened to me in the bank and the lady rudely asked the cashier why she was attending to a farang instead of her. The cashier just replied that my queue ticket was before hers. Old lady angrily stormed off.
  15. Indulgences still exist and can still be obtained for cash. In 2000 cash could still get you an indulgence.
  16. Or a steak pie.
  17. Many thanks for all responses, very helpful.
  18. There has been mention and some discussion over UK Citizens (possibly only applying to pensioners) who have been away from the UK over 3 years no longer qualifying for free treatment. Is it a rule but a rarely enforced one.? Anyone with knowledge or experience on this matter care to comment. I am not saying treatment would be refused but would be chargeable, I have seen comments a few years ago, some naysayers and some saying that there have been a few crackdowns.
  19. In Thailand moreso than anywhere one beach resort is much the same as another. And today's tourist crowd don't add pleasure to the experience. Small towns don't have those and there is usually enough there to justify a few days stay. Especially if your pleasure comes from nosing around and relaxing in caffs and restos. Somebody mentioned Nakhon Sawan which is a good example, get a hotel near the park/lake have a wander around and also by the river and see Thailand not tourists. Of course the wandering is pleasanter in the evening hours out of the heat.
  20. Many thanks stoner, apparently I now have someone sorted by a mate so I'll see how that pans out. I still have nearly 3 weeks of treatment left so won't be doing anything till it's finished. Stoner you are gent and I appreciate your offer.
  21. Good question, he said that he credited the oil with keeping him right. He had told the doctors this and they nodded in agreement.
  22. I have spoken to a person a while ago who said cannabis Oil was helping him live through lung cancer. I am on chemo for throat cancer, would it help me, how would I apply it and where would be the best place to get it.? Grateful for any advice.
  23. I did not see any details of this "daring escape".
  24. Hilarious indeed, I doubt my kecks will ever dry.
