    I very nearly did 25 years ago, always liked Vientiane but the longest I've managed is 2 weeks. I've only been once since the Chinese took over, could do with another look. You may have a point it could wear thin after a while it is a smallish place but I did last a good few years in the Nakhon.

    I suppose it depends on the room, I don't suppose it would be much for the original price in a place paying an illegal person 3,000 or 4,000 a month to run the reception. I mean there are well respected contributors on here who would never go near a 500 baht room, let alone 300. No you are correct, lock the git up and eventually deport him.

    "Ripping off" by charging 500 for a 300 baht room.? What tourists are looking at 300 baht rooms.? The answer is probably skint ones, but 500 in bkk is not a killer.

    Thanks for that, it is pre 2024 savings. Hope I can prove it to their satisfaction. The tax relief was a vain hope, belt and braces style. Thanks again.

    Mike I am expecting to transfer in approx, 600,000 baht to pay for hospital treatment (my status is extension of permission to stay based on non-O Retirement) any likelihood they would give tax relief on this. Yes I know, my fault for not having it here in the first place.
