  1. Are you claiming Americans on low hourly rates who work overtime can afford the above? I find that difficult to believe. The federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 an hour for seven years. This is a poverty wage, and has an effect on wages for millions of jobs. Overall, 58.3 million workers (43.7 percent) earn under $15 an hour; 41.7 million (31.3 percent) earn under $12 an hour. https://www.oxfamamerica.org/explore/countries/united-states/poverty-in-the-us/low-wage-map/#:~:text=The federal minimum wage has, earn under %2412 an hour.
  2. Sounds more like employer exploitation. So may Americans are on low hourly rates. In a sense it's an insult to encourage them to work overtime, you know a thing called work / life balance or isn't that recognised for the low paid in the US for quality of life?
  3. Sure, when you are on a low hourly rate, as are so many American workers who are compelled to work overtime to pay their costs.
  4. Article makes logical sense considering one of trump's senior advisers is Stephen Miller, a well known white Supremacist. / Great Replacement conspiracy theorist. Republican pollster Sarah Longwell on Friday morning found herself incredulous that Republicans who were highly skeptical of former President Donald Trump are now expressing dismay that he's hanging out with hardcore racists such as Laura Loomer.. Writing on X, Longwell slammed some of her former political allies who seemingly believe that they can manipulate Trump away from embracing far-right extremists despite the fact that he has made a habit of doing so for nearly a decade now. "People who are clutching their pearls over Trump hanging out with conspiracy theorist lunatic Laura Loomer are cracking me up," she wrote. "Guys, Trump is the chief lunatic conspiracy theorist. He’s not 'being influenced,' he’s just hanging out with people who think the same way he does." 'Case studies in delusion': GOP pollster buries formerly Trump-skeptical Republicans (msn.com)
  5. trump certainly did not cut government spending in his first term. In fact government spending increased significantly e.g. national debt increased by 39%. I suggest you're indulging in wishful thinking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_policy_of_the_Donald_Trump_administration#:~:text=Despite saying during the 2016,trillion in 2023) in 2019.
  6. Sounds good, but where are the costing. Does he plan to replace the lost tax revenue and how? Hopefully not by cutting welfare services, though wouldn't be surprised.
  7. I asked the question as so many MAGA supports seem to be anti government. I was curious what their gripes are as so far as I know trump has done very little (nothing?) for the less well off by way of legislation, so why are they voting for him. I assume migrants are a concern, but so far I know little impact as one is informed low paid jobs are usually not taken up by the general population. I assume due to racism / stereotyping and of course US citizen employers not paying reasonable wages. How many US citizens are prosecuted for "wage theft" - none?
  8. Actually his background is Hinduism. However, your claim is truly stupid, the BBC Chairmans would undergo massive vetting process. I don't know of any credible media outlet as pro Islamic terror, so educate me and list them - Lol
  9. The Haitians in Springfield are not 'illegals". they are legal refugees. If true why would they steal ducks from the park, I assume they are under resourced by support agencies.
  10. Can you list them as doesn't seem to be the case; many have switched to a direct electoral process. In any case I assume the US is the only country where the loser (trump) in the Electoral College process tried to corrupt the lawful outcome.
  11. The facts of the matter... Biden gave a hat to a Trump supporter in the crowd as a friendly gesture. The supporter then asked Biden to put on a Trump cap in the name of bipartisanship, and the president went along, briefly wearing the red hat. "As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter, who then suggested that, in the same spirit, POTUS should wear the Trump cap. He briefly put it on," Bates added. https://www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-wears-donald-trump-hat-1952411
  12. Trump obviously believes buying influence is wonderful, I would have thought it's illegal but....trump asked for a billion dollars from oil execs for which he would pass favourable legislation; interesting insight into how US operates.
  13. If you haven't read how do know it's 'crap' other than rejecting 'cause it not from a right of centre source. BTW It's a free article
  14. Last reply. trump was in public denial of Covid threat until March. His pandering to the anti government right of centre and countering his own government recommendations led to to a great deal of suffering in the US. Trump continued todownplay the threat publicly — comparing it to the typical flu, insisting the virus would disappear quickly and offeringfrequent praise for China’s response. The president appeared committed to keeping the public focused on more upbeat matters such as the rising stock market. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/09/10/trump-coronavirus-bob-woodward-412222 Trump Administration was blindsided by the rapid community outbreak of COVID‐19, necessitating a declaration of a national emergency on March 13, 2020. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9115435/
  15. true -trump was conned and remained in denial so for a number of months - that's why the death toll from Covid in the US was so high. Plus of course pandering to the right of centre stupid political games, rather then being Presidential.
  16. Credible link to backup your claim? below are the facts regards US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Personally I do not understand how Biden can be personally blamed for a suicide bomb attack, nor why those murdered were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. The Gold Medal seeks to impart the highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions by individuals or institutions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congressional_Gold_Medal
  17. Was at the beginning on the Covid pandemic. Trump was conned and said... “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus,” Trump wrote in a post on Twitter. “The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!” https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/24/trump-thanks-chinas-xi-jinping-for-handling-of-coronavirus.html
  18. Both did so. However, trump out performed Harris with 33 lies compared to one from Harris https://www.huffpost.com/entry/daniel-dale-fact-check-trump-harris-debate_n_66e12f67e4b02be061c6bd5d
  19. Actually it was quite informative -seems from his facial expressions trump truly believe the stuff he articulates - proves trump is actually delusional.. Personally love to know who primarily feeds him the BS. Surely anyone who was undecided will now go for Harris.
  20. No. open your eyes.... https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2024-08-30/trump-anti-civil-service-deep-state https://www.afge.org/article/project-2025-seeks-to-dismantle-agencies-terminate-up-to-1-million-federal-workers/
  21. Nope. Plan is to fire so called 'deep state" employees i.e. thousands of civil servant with the destruction of administrative institutions. Want your tax refund? tough... https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2024-08-30/trump-anti-civil-service-deep-state
  22. She's more qualified that when trump gained power. He had no idea how government operated and still doesn't respect the Constitution. IMO he proven he is not qualified to be President -still denies he was beaten in the 2020 election and will destroy the institutions which manage America by firing civil servants and replacing them with unqualified sycophants.
  23. Has Biden engaged in any new wars during his term in Office? Trump did try to pull the rug under the Kurds, plus actually insulted their sacrifices - 10,000 dead fighting ISIS. trump declared IS beaten, but they are active in Afghanistan, Africa and so on. trump made some strategic errors of judgement, but was saved by the military efforts..
  24. In my opinion Harris won the debate due to trump making repeated false claims, conspiracy stuff, outright lies, nasty comments regards migrants etc. I do question Harris focus on the working class and improving their financial positions. Do American citizens believe the government has much influence of their day to day lives? Trump made outrageous claim without any factual backup actually lies e.g. their was no inflation during my term. I did notice trump never looked towards Harris which I consider a major character flaw.
  25. Disagree, Harris will win, otherwise USA and it's allies will suffer from a man with no morals / ethics whose only loyalty is to himself; even that's questionable with his self delusion.
