IMO blatant corruption to call for donations from industry execs in a quid per pro. I am truly surprised it is not a criminal act under US law or at the very least law to limit value of donations from companies / individuals. US business practice with politicians must be massively corrupt. In just a few days, Donald Trump appeared to lay waste to decades-long American efforts to crack down on public and private corruption within the U.S. and abroad with a series of actions that experts are calling a clear signal that malfeasance by politicians and corporate actors will be tolerated if not encouraged. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-political-corruption-watchdog-fired-b2697111.html

Should have read beyond the headline plus the stock market has fallen by 10%. relief offered by the tame Consumer Price Index report from the Labor Department on Wednesday could be temporary as the data did not fully capture a cascade of tariffs by President Donald Trump's administration, which has caused a surge in consumers' inflation expectations and prompted economists to upgrade their inflation forecasts. Stocks fell on Thursday, with equities unable to shake a three-week market rout under the weight of new tariff threats from President Donald Trump. The S&P 500 dropped 1.39% to settle at 5,521.52. The index ended the day in correction, 10.1% off its record close. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 537.36 points, or 1.3%, marking its fourth day of declines and closing at 40,813.57. The Nasdaq Composite shed 1.96% with shares of Tesla and Apple lower. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/12/stock-market-today-live-updates.html

Again read forum rules. I assume you're aware trump is placing tariffs on the Australian steel and alumina products. Last time trump was in power he cost Australian industry tens of billions dollars in lost revenue.

So far as I know Harris did not publicly call for billion dollar donations promising specific support for the donor's industry.

More than half of the over 1.8 million electric vehicles Tesla globally delivered last year came from the Shanghai plant. https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202401/04/WS65964e5da3105f21a507a908.html Tesla opens $200m battery factory in China despite trade war tensions https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/news/tesla-factory-battery-china-trump-trade-war-b2696663.html

Leading up to the election trump requested $1 billion from oil industry execs and promised to take care of them: "Drill baby, drill"...Now we see trump trying to help out Musk with payback in the pipeline. trump bibles printed in PRC etc. trump is the swamp, astonishingly corrupt and MAGA doesn't seem to even raise an eyebrow!

More than interesting Musk is now donating $100 million to a trump PAC - MAGA corruption in full sight! https://www.axios.com/2025/03/12/musk-trump-100-million-donation-political-operation

No. A ghost writer wrote the book. Got to question who actually is in the drivers seat for Ukraine negotiations, 'cause trump isn't there. He will turn up to sign stuff when negotiations are completed. For the meantime Russia has to agree with the temporary ceasefire. Obviously gives time for both sides to rearm etc. But trump withdrawal of support provided some leway for Russia to regain some territory in Kursk thereby weakening Ukraine's negotiating position -

I'm always rather astonished the amount of trust trump supporters place on his claims. So far as I know trump personally hasn't closed any international diplomacy deals to end conflicts (surrendered to Taliban) and very few trade deals. Trump's renowned for unilaterally withdrawing from / cancelling international agreements, but otherwise.... -

Interesting clarification on the use of Starlink and Starshield use in Ukraine, one has to assume there are Top Secret T&Cs Ukrainian officials have acknowledged their over-reliance on Starlink but could not find an equivalent in terms of coverage or quality of service.[42] A US Department of Defense official said in 2022 that other entities existed to provide communications on the battlefields in Ukraine as an alternative to Starlink.[77] A contractual arrangement with SpaceX for Starlink in Ukraine, as well as Starshield, a separate military-focused version of Starlink, seem to have been the solutions chosen by the DoD and SpaceX against the restrictions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starlink_in_the_Russian-Ukrainian_War#:~:text=SpaceX said that to the, doesn't work in Russia. -

OK. I had understood imagery was cut off after Zelensky WH meeting. We do know trump has ceased supply of military intelligence which one assumes has more 'value' than Starlink. Musk has now promised to keep Starlink available for Ukraine, For sure Musk would terminate at trump's instruction; for the meantime... https://www.voanews.com/a/after-poland-spat-musk-vows-ukraine-can-keep-starlink/8004518.html -

No need to be rude; are you a MAGA supporter? As I understand currently Starlink and a few others are temporally banned. I assume. unless the talks in KSR progress more bans will be applied. Yes, unprovoked. It's not Russia's legal prerogative to dictate what a sovereign state can or cannot do within their own territory.I suggest you might learn some truths by not condoning BS from trump and Co or other pro Russian propaganda outlets. -

Your immersion in MAGA world is extremely annoying. Would be great if you did some fact checking before posting your drivel. e.g. https://apnews.com/article/usaid-funding-trump-musk-misinformation-c544a5fa1fe788da10ec714f462883d1 -

No: Russia has killed tens of thousands and some hundreds of thousands of their own people have been killed. Since at least 2014 Russia has been acting illegally by attacking a sovereign nation. How about changing your tune and acknowledge the truth. Putin is at fault for the insurgency and invasion, thereby creating god knows how many dead and injured and destruction of infrastructure. -

Firstly it isn't "my war"; it's Putin's unprovoked and illegal invasion, Prior to this it was Russian insurgency that generated approx 10,000 deaths in the Donbas region commencing 2014. Ukraine was losing territory in Eastern Ukraine during trump's first Presidency due to the Russian insurgency. It's been reported hundreds of Ukrainians have been killed since trump stopped providing satellite intelligence and arms resupply. Please stop your nonsense and apologist crap for trump and Putin. Shame NZ isn't being invaded by PRC, then you could keep occupied lobbying for surrender for "peace". -

Don't you think Zelensky, representing the Ukrainian people and Cabinet, should be the one outlining the rules for disengagement. As has been said, for some unfathomable reason trump has handed over the "cards" to Russia by enabling Putin's military to kill even more Ukrainians and take over more territory prior to finalising an agreement. Why has trump made these decisions, one would think isn't so stupid not to know the outcome of his recent decisions. So again I ask why as I can only conclude he is a traitor to Western democracy or utterly stupid.
