  1. Last trip I went to the True office in MBK and they could not get the TrueH SIm to work on my Nexus 4 or Nexus 5.

This trip I will try an Moto E Global version, hopefully that will work.

Will TrueH work well in Issan and the South?

I have both a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 5, both work fine with any SIM here: I've used AIS, DTAC and TrueMove H, so suspect some sort of user error?

Just turn the phone off, remove the battery, insert the SIM, insert the battery, turn the phone on. It should register with the network automagically, if not search for the appropriate network. Any APN should be on the SIM, if not add it manually.

TrueMove H will work fine everywhere.

  2. beating about corruption by the junta but there is no proof. (how could there be whey are in charge so short)

    You're funny.

    You do realize that:

a.) the military has a massive budget, no oversight, and lots of procurement opportunities.

b.) this isn't their first rodeo

c.) they've been plugged in at the civil service level for eons, much of the skim happens there rather than at the political level.

But yes, we're not implying that the Junta has helped themselves to additional remuneration for their most current "sacrifice", yet.

And yes, they will be granted full immunity, amazingly they will grant it unto themselves, for any "mistakes" they might make on this year's coup.

  3. All I'm after is if people think having the economic department at the Royal Thai Army headquarters in charge of the flood management plan as of Monday afternoon June 9 is a good idea.

No less of a good idea than having Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong in charge of the overall Thai economy, when he's not chairing the Thai Airways board, that is. wink.png

BTW, in the Harry Potter analogy, which is brilliant for Thailand, I believe Yingluck would be Bellatrix Lestrange?

  4. Phew, now that we’ve almost got the name accurate, it’s House Rama RCA, yes, this is pretty much the only art house left since Apex-Lido went up/down in smoke/flames.

Their Facebook page offers an easier view into films/showtimes:

I can recommend “Rob the Mob”.

Yes, this theater is a bit out of the way, hard to get to and the actual screens/theaters are a bit on the small side, and the sound systems are OK (obviously no digital here) and the seats a bit long in the tooth, but maybe the only place to see a specific film? The good news is that the there are hardly any other customers. In ~ 40 films I think I’ve been the only customer in the house ~ 37 times.

  5. One: Will those hordes opposed to Yingluck's water-management scheme show up to oppose the junta's wataer management scheme?

A significant number of these projects have been in the planning stages since the early 1990's, as a result of efforts by the Royal Irrigation Department begun at the behest of the Monarch back in the 1950's. There was overwhelming demand from all quarters: citizens, bureaucrats, foreign investors, industry, politicians of all ilks, water management experts, Dr. Water, here re: proactively addressing future flooding situations, during/after the great flood of 2011. But, easier to demand that everyone just "be happy", and also learn to swim.

    Is every project perfect? (No)

Are there potential civilian displacements? (Yes)

Will graft/corruption instantly disappear? (Up to you)

Is it easy to sit back and do nothing? (Yes)

  6. I might suggest that you maintain a single thread for your home networking challenges rather than starting a new one with each travail. That way people could get a feel for your set-up without having to ask all the same questions, and then have to wade through your Google Translated posts,

    Example: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/724364-tot-connection-lost-reset-voip-router-or-not/?p=7799912

For this most recent issue, I'd submit that your set-up is fairly unique and finding someone here who both has the same set-up and the same issue, will be challenging.

It seems obvious that, unless your number is 1150 (KFC or Pizza Hut) your phone should not be ringing constantly, and that it is an issue related to your VoIP service, likely a provisioning issue in TOT's network at their VoIP gateway. And that you should look to them for a solution.

  7. Choose one:

    Reply hazy try again

    Ask again later

    Better not tell you now

    Cannot predict now

    Concentrate and ask again

Seriously there is no way to answer your question even with a random, single user's experience hundreds of Km away.

Talk with neighbors to see what they have and what works for them. ANd search/read the gazillion threads posted here, many of which have valuable detail re: traceroutes, pings, VPN, real-world performance.

The True bundles (Double/Triple Sook etc.) do represent good value assuming you need/want cable tv, analog voice, mobile etc. See pages 41 - 47 for True On-Line promos (still good now).

Based on my vaguest recollection of the many, many, many, many, many threads over an extended period of time (FTTx is relatively new), people seem to be more satisfied with True DOCSIS vs. most other access technologies/ISP/offers.

  8. Clearly the ISOC have lost that will to do anything, from terrorizing the country to rid it of communism and the leftists who threatened the "status quo", all the way up to trying to assassinate a sitting PM.

Back in the good old days, the CSOC (ISOC's predecessor) was implicated in several atrocities in its 1970s war against leftist groups. This included the murder of southern Thai activists by putting them into drums of boiling oil.

Now they're settling for creating rec. centers.

  9. The pro-military side in this debate could strengthen their arguments significantly by describing how efficient, well run, and effective the Thai military is, and by providing evidence that the generals have no tolerance for corruption or conflict of interests in their own organization.

    They could try. cheesy.gif

  10. I usually see some friends every day. But a lot of them are girls, as I get along better with women, dunno why, has always been like that. Funny thing is it seems like guy-girl friendships are not so common here so I often end up in well let's call it awkward situations.

Maybe there are some aspects of your sexual identity which, having been repressed, as just aching to spring out?

  11. Here where I live in the Isaan, most families grow rice for their own cosumption. As rice became more pricey to buy on the local markets, and given the current inflation, it has actually become REALLY worth while to grow your own staple food !
Two points re: that loud sound rushing over your head:
1.) Well if the production cost exceeds the sales price – which is pretty much what this topics is about - then it may be cheaper to buy your rice in the market.
From the OP: Currently, the rice price is only between Bt4,000 and Bt6,000 per tonne, meaning farmers sold rice at a loss given the average production cost was between Bt7,000 and Bt7,700 per tonne.
2.) And the Military Junta’s economic whizz kids (OK, Herr General), have frozen the price of pretty much everything, except puppies, rainbows and snow, including rice for six months.
Thailand's Commerce Ministry said today that prices of many consumer goods would be frozen for six months to November to hold down living costs and boost the economy and confidence. "Producers of 205 categories of necessary consumer goods are happy to freeze prices for six months," the ministry's permanent secretary, Srirat Rastapana, who is acting minister under a military government that seized power on May 22, said in a statement after meeting with companies and trade associations. Those consumer goods include beverages, rice, palm oil, instant foods, dairy products, household products, animal feed and fertiliser.
Regarding increasing tax revenue: How about a Luxury Tax, of an additional 3% (so a total of 10%) on specialty luxury items to be levied on high-ticket material goods such as watches, expensive clothing, boats, yachts, private jet planes, jewelry and expensive cars.
  12. It seems I've been lucky enough

So why the thread? I mean you're young, fit/super buff, speak Thai, don't have a job, have had many GFs and one-nighters. I'm just not seein' a problem here?

Based on a quick scan of your posts, you come across as a bit of a loner. Maybe best to expand your circle of similar (age, likes) Thai friends and build from there. Go out in groups with friends.

I think most people meet their partners via work, friends or family, but I still can't figure out what you're looking for (free sex, no commitment, no awkward next morning discussion of remuneration requiring an ATM run, or a long-term GF with prospects of marriage)?
