No TM6 card on entry
biggles45 replied to Laphroaig27's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
We were asked for our boarding cards at Swampy, many others have posted the same. -
' I want a international driving license (Proof) so I can go touring in neighboring countries ' As a member of ASEAN, Thailand has a recipricol arrangement with other ASEAN countries and you can use your Thai licence there, for 90 days as I recall.

'the aircraft has to evenly balanced with the weights distributed evenly throughout the airplane for safe flying and controlling the plane' Sounds good in theory... BUT they don't weigh the passengers when they allocate seats, so all the fatties could be on one side of the plane. Many folk do on line check in and get a seat allocated, so no idea where the thin/chubby ones are. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Meeting a privately hired Taxi-Meter at Suvarnabhumi Airport?
biggles45 replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in General Topics
I have used private drivers for 20 years at the airport. They Always park in the parking garage, meet me at a gate exit (3 or 4 usually) and we walk over to get their car. Never had a problem. -
Filipina GF and I live in the Philippines but have ties to Thailand. For the 7 years Pre Covid we spent 5 months each year in Pattaya, where we had accom. 2 X 2 month tourist visa and one visa free entry. In those 7 years we never had one TR refused or one issue with Thai immigration

I have a Philippine car/bike licence but spend several months a year in Thailand. My Thai licence has now expired, thanks Covid, but I am covered with my RP licence by the recipricol agreement mentioned in the post above. I actually keep a copy of the agreement on my phone but have never been stopped to try it out.

This is incorrect. You do not need a 'return' ticket but, same as Thailand, a ticket to anywhere out of the country. Furthermore, you can enter on a 30 day visa free entry, as in Thailand, but you can extend this every few months upto 3 years! without any hassle from immigration. I have several friends here who have done this

It doesn't really matter, he will be pulling the strings anyway. Besides, they are all singing from the same songbook...... or should that be the same Bank book!

Tourist Visa Application Tricky Questions
biggles45 replied to seeriipaap's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you are coming after October 1st (and b4 March 31st) you can get a 45 day Visa Exemption, expendable for 30 days. This might fit your needs with less stress -
'My point is if I arrive on 30 September, do I have to leave by 29 October ? ' My thought would be that you have to arrive AFTER midnight on Oct 1st to get the 45 days. Now if your flight arrives late on 30th and you don't pass thru Immig till after midnight you MAY get away with it BUT immig now ask for your boarding pass since they scrapped TM6 so this may not work?

'Imagine the amount of cheese that would be needed if they had to go to Immigration every 60 days instead !' Many travel agencies in the Philippines will do the visa renewal for you, for a fee, just as in Thailand. Remember also that to get this 60 day extension (for upto 3 years) you can start off on a Visa Exemption entry. You do not have to have 800,000 in the bank, an income stream or any other conditions, unlike Thailand. You just pay the fee. If you want a Retirement Visa, that is available as well, with monetary conditions, but you NEVER report to immigration when you have it, (Google SRRV)
