  1. They might need to fix the immigration computers at the airport first.
  2. There is a priority queue for both out bound and inbound at Swampy. I have used them for 8 years now with no problem and my 45 yr old partner is allowed thru as well.
  3. Medical certificate from a Thai doctor.... what a joke. I needed one for my license renewal, never saw him, the receptionist gave it to me.
  4. If you are going to 'beg' tourists from many different cultures to come here, and you spend millions promoting the place, don't be upset if they don't all have your way of looking at life.
  5. I have lived in angeles for 12 years, and in Pattaya for ten before that. I suggest you join Philippines-addicts.com. Lots of helpful info from folks on the ground there.
  6. Any regulation/legislation here is ignored. No enforcement (remember the 'no passengers in the tray of pickups rule) so nothing will change
  7. How sad that corruption in Thailand is so well known and yet nothing has, or will, ever be done about it.
  8. Like some others I have no idea what you are talking about, despite reading the post. I have no idea what a 'stack' is or where to find one. Several times I have tried to extend an AGODA booking while staying at the hotel, it has always been cheaper to use AGODA again for the extra days. ALL I care about is that what I pay is a good price. By the way, booking.com is owned by the same company!
  9. I have ANZ in OZ and KBank in Thailand. I opened a Wise account 5 years ago, it is based in Oz and so transfer from ANZ to it has no fee. The wise fee on larger amounts is much higher than ANZ but the exchange rate is a lot better. On a $10k transfer they are $200+ cheaper. Had no problems at all.
  10. Yes, but his son is now the leader. He was 30 when his parents stole millions of dollars from the people. Hard to believe he didn't know what was going on. Sometimes people get the govt they deserve!
  11. Brilliant thinking. Polls show high immigration numbers are a major concern and an election next year. illegal immigration is costly and getting all the headlines, so what do we do? Make it more difficult for the spouses of British citizens who apply to LEGALLY enter.
  12. Thai motorbike riders will take absolutely no notice of this, as with any other one-way road.
  13. Under reciprocal ASEAN arrangements, Thai license holders can drive on their license in other ASEAN Countries. I use my Philippine license regularly.
  14. If net immigration has to be reduced, for whatever reason, why penalize LEGAL applicants? Remind me again just how many illegals have floated across the channel with impunity. How much are they costing the taxpayer and why isn't that a priority...... They are illegals, a criminal action.
  15. 'Come the next election they will be wiped out along with the other traitors who stole the election from the winning party Move Forward' Unlikely, the current govt will take steps to amend the constitution to ensure no-one who is not on board with the status quo has a chance. A repeat of the last election for sure.
  16. TAT must be a wonderful place to work! Every day you can issue ridiculous predictions, that never come true, and YOU KEEP YOUR JOB.
  17. 'The arrogance of some people, sounds like England' I think this video is just click bait. This woman looks the same as on another video I watched recently On this one she had her illegal use of a guy's internet cut off when he put a password on it. She knocked on his door to get the password and had a lot of logical liberal reasons why she should still be allowed to share it, at his cost
  18. I remember the expensive lights installed at many Pattaya Ped crossings years ago. Of course drivers ignored them and they were eventually removed. I think that the reason given was that they caused 'traffic delays' which should be why they were there?
  19. Thais riding motorbikes will totally ignore this new rule, as they do with any one way street. After the first few days the BIB will stop enforcing it... Far too hot out there for traffic duty.
  20. That photo is just like the view from our hotel windows in CM TEN YEARS ago. Don't hold your breath for anything to change..... or maybe you should!!
  21. Corruption is part of the police Culture, as is doing as little as possible without some 'reward' You could double their pay and they would not stop taking bribes, shaking people down or work any harder.
  22. A total waste of time. Thais just ignore any laws they don't agree with and no one enforces them anyway. Just look at Chiang Mai in the smokey season to see this in action. How many years ongoing now?
  23. The 2023 OZ pension, paid to a Resident living overseas is $21,300 (490,300 baht) a year and is not taxable The Thai tax rates are 0 – 150,000 Exempt 150,000 – 300,000 5% 300,000 – 500,000 10% So tax due would be 7,500 + 20,000 for a total of 27,500
  24. 'Buddhist pacifism' This is a myth, every day there are reports of road rage with weapons, security ganging up on customers etc. Cause a Thai to believe he has lost face and see how passive he is. It's just PR for the tourist industry
  25. 'Riding' a big, high seat Adventure bike is not a problem. Preventing it from falling over when you stop is. She would only be able to put one foot on the ground, with the bike likely leaning in that direction, hardly a stable position. And if it falls she will have a tough time getting it upright again.
