Why Do Thai Girls Love Getting Tattoos?
GinBoy2 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I wasn't trying to be negative, but more practical. I tried to tell my kids, unsuccessfully as it turned out, was something that can look great on 20 year old skin, may not be quite so great on a 50/60/70 year old body. Aging has a cruel way of tat's looking ridiculous Piercing, well get fed up with it, take out the hardware and soon enough you're back to normal. Tat's remember you live with them forever -
Thats actually quite true I think. The young kids who work for me are at a total loss with mental arithmetic, and without the calculator on their phones go into a tailspin. I'm pretty sure most of us here are of an age when we recited multiplication tables at school, and did what I consider basic mental math. Doesn't work like like that anymore. As a high schooler one of my part time jobs was working as a cashier at a local store. Long before electronic cash registers, you did the math to calculate change in your head. A skill long gone I fear. One good solar flare to knock out the electricity grid, and we'll be back in the dark ages. So no, this is a problem not confined to Thailand, but given the Thai education system a little worse

Is there anything good about getting old?
GinBoy2 replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My car insurance is cheaper. I talk to the young boys at work and what they pay is eye watering As you age you clutch onto the small things lol -
Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
GinBoy2 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You're a braver man than me to have ended up with four! -
I've never experienced the OP's premise of a farang with western wife in tow leave for a much younger Thai woman. Seen plenty of older divorced guys fall for the 20-30 year old younger than them and it end in tears. At the end of the day, guys can delude themselves that a woman, Thai or whatever, is actually attracted to a man old enough to be their father

Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
GinBoy2 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well ain't that the truth. Humans aren't a one size fits all species. I think a lot, if not most all on here have been previously married in their home country. People can drift apart, that happens and hopefully not too acrimoniously. I met my Thai wife at work in Singapore. I'd already drifted apart from my wife, too much travel for work, and i delved into the workplace affair. Not too honorable I'll admit, but it happens. We aren't far apart in age, and she had grown up as a teenager in Chicago, so we shared a lot of cultural things, maybe with the exception of baseball. She's a diehard Cubs fan whereas I'm a Giants fan So on to marriage. We were OK in Thailand until our son went to college in Chicago and told us he wasn't coming home. So, only only reason we actually got legally married was to get MrsG a green card So I don't think the OP's premise is really valid. Marriage in all cultures is an up and down thing. Maybe cross cultures is more difficult, but in my case Mrs G was a bit of a hybrid so I've never really thought about it -
Why Do Thai Girls Love Getting Tattoos?
GinBoy2 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Hmm have you noticed that half the world have tats? I sometimes feel I'm the only man on the planet without ink. When I was a kid tats were the realm of drunken sailors and women of ill repute. Today everyone gets them. I begged my kids, pierce what you want but don't ink it. Of course all three of them totally ignored me. So definitely sure tats aren't nowadays restricted to ladies of the night, and most certainly not mental illness, although maybe I'd go with social pressure or todays norms. -
Simple answer is No I'll talk to my kids, if they will pick up which is rare, other than that I text

Are Older Men in Thailand Trading Love for Financial Ruin
GinBoy2 replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I had a co-worker that was headed for the show 90 Day Fiancee with his Columbian 'girlfriend' Prostate cancer kinda nixed that and the Columbian 'girlfriend' bolted But he said in all the pre show stuff they were groomed on the scenes that would be required to do. All fake crap that folks lap up, as sad as that is -
Thailand vs Panama. Decisions Decisions!
GinBoy2 replied to BarBoy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
So regardless of whether or not this is a bob_smith thing, which I also suspect it is. Folks have a fairly consistent style of writing. Anyhow one of the pluses of working for an airline is I travel for free. Just over a year ago we went to Panama City for a few days just because I could and I'd never been there before. I'm a native Spanish speaker so language wasn't a problem. Quite liked the place, food is great, climate OK, it was all pretty cheap, but obviously I don't know about living costs as a resident. But on balance I'd chose somewhere in Mexico. I have family in Guadalajara a city I love or one of the tourist cities before Panama -
Why do so many Thai prostitutes marry their customers?
GinBoy2 replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well I'd suppose most here have had some failed marriage, and I'm one. Now mine wasn't a bar girl failure but an expat office romance. Not exactly honorable I will admit, but we're all human and fallible. Now my wife's cousin was a bar girl did end up with a Swedish guy. I think it is love, but she also just wanted to get outta the game. Now they just look like all of us, middle aged couple living their life, and just forget the past -

So I've talked about my wife's cousin before . Lady of the night, no getting around that. Ended up hooking up with a Swedish guy and moving to Sweden. Sweden seems to be the soft touch for visas I kinda like Clas fun guy, obviously knows the history, her kids grandkids all seems to work. But she makes him happy, and she seems happy in some Godforsaken town in Sweden, so all good -

I think it's hard to equate Thai sex work to that in the west In the West it breaks down to the high class 'escorts' and the low class druggies. In Thailand I think you are right that the older ladies they just want an out for them and their kids, and if it means sleeping with a host of old white guys until one of them falls for them, thats what it takes -
When me and my wife moved back to the US, before we had work place we enrolled in an ACA plan. It was day one and since we hadn't got a job the tax credits paid for it. Now I wouldn't have liked to get really sick cos deductibles and co-insurance would have been terrible. But I could go to the doc for $30 and get a prescription for $15. Got us both through until we both got jobs My wife works for DoD. Her health insurance is socialism on steroids!

Well thats a little harsh. There are quite a few of us who have been with a Thai woman for decades. Probably not from the entertainment biz, although I do know some of those who have gone the distance. But that being said, the landscape is strewn with bad Thai/Farang relationships. Bargirls, guys twice. the girls age, language, culture the list goes on how it can fail. But thats the story of human life, relationships fail, maybe in the West for different reasons, but know when to cut bait, pack what you need and leave. Always tough to leave something you think you've built, but you live and move on

You don't get it. People lose their minds when they enter an airport. I've had drunks at 6am, but apparently it's 5pm somewhere in the world. I've been spat at when someone shows up after the boarding is complete and doors are closed Verbal tirades are par for the course And of course we're in the middle of a blizzard planes can't land and you have a spittle spewing woman screaming at you saying she has to be in Chicago by 2pm for her daughters wedding. Well you know what, it's February, plan to travel a couple of days ahead, cos surprise surprise planes don't land or take off when a runway is covered in snow My favorite was the crazy preacher who barged past the gate agent through the security door onto the ramp, plane was pushing, because he had a sermon to preach that night in TX. He ended up in jail for the night! Yeah, people are idiots in airport. Just read terms of carriage when you book the ticket and you'll be fine. But don't blame the person checking you in if you don't follow the conditions. At check in very little they can do the override the software
-
I do that, check you in, and chuck your bags in to the cargo bins, unload them and get them to claim Don't piss of the rampers or your bags may be lost forever lol
-
He's just a grifter. Even with no skills he could go home and get a job. I work in the airline biz on the ramp. Terrible money but easy, if a little physical. Somehow all the kids that work for me can afford to live in an apartment, own a car, feed themselves. I don't believe a single one of them lives in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass in fear for their life! Maybe he wouldn't be able to afford to live in Manhattan or San Francisco, but there are a thousand more cities where he could work and live a decent life 'if' he wanted to work

Should I Tell My Friend That His Girlfriend Is Trans?
GinBoy2 replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I 'thought' the definition of Trans was a person still maintaining their birth anatomy, but 'identifying" as the opposite sex But the whole OP is yet another BS probably AI generated clickbate story, which it appears we've all fell for -
Well the whole getting older thing is a bit of a bitch in general. Me and Mrs G are mid 50's, mid 60's, been around the block for a few decades. We still have a pretty good sex life which is good, but I'll openly admit neither of us have the same desire for it had 20+ years ago, thats cruel nature at work, cup of cocoa before bedtime might suffice! Then there are the aches and pains. Damn it things I would have shaken off in my youth now have me racing for the pain meds So you kinda need to accept getting older and ease into it, for all it's ups and downs, or you're going to feel pretty bitter
-
Well that may be true, and previous applications may have been 'airbrushed' by the applicant. But a B2 is subjective, whereas an immigrant visa is objective. Tick the boxes and it's a done deal. A B2 doesn't require a background check as an immigrant visa does, so a B2 really comes down to the judgment of the CO, which again gets back to that subjective 'feeling' of the CO about the applicant Like it or not given the number of Thai's in the US who overstay I get it Oh and a little factoid, the US is home to the largest Thai diaspora, surprising since I always thought given the traffic here it would have been the UK
