  1. why is the post dated 1 day ago?
  2. I bet long term stayers spend more per head that short term tourists so you should encourage the former and not TAX THEM
  3. Nothing to do with tariffs eh?
  4. If drivers had a little more patience there might be fewer patients in the hospitals BUT I am afraid it's not in the average Thai's DNA
  5. Good reason to book that ticket to Thailand then?
  6. I went to Ontario many years ago - you could only buy alcohol in government shops - is that still the case?
  7. Just a lot of hot air😁
  8. Now I know why I can't get 3 in 1 Cappuccino
  9. Just because you don't agree with with what the Thais do on their new year doesn't make them stupid but it does show your ignorance (judging others by your standards) I think in a previous post you said you're entitled to have an opinion and express it - so you are but that doesn't extend to calling a nation stupid because you don't like what they do.
  10. What is the position on joint bank accounts (one Thai one UK not married). Can you choose which person will be taxed on the transfers to that account or is it a joint liability?
  11. Well Jose (apparently a Spanish name so if you are Spanish you'll understand). Everywhere in the world there are "stupid" traditions. For example in Spain; Pamplona - the running of the bulls - most years someone dies or gets seriously injured not wet. La Tomatina is a Spanish festival in Buñol - wasting food when people are starving. If the Thais want to throw water (and call it a tradition) to attract tourists it's their business not yours.
  12. How long does something have to occur before it is a "tradition"
  13. I said this on another thread: Hollywood comes to Washington!
  14. For a couple of years when I started coming to Thailand I participated - now if I am here I stock up and stay in. BUT it is their new year and their tradition so let those who want to enjoy the "fun" do so.
  15. Hollywood comes to Washington!
  16. Tax free environment for all Americans exporting themselves to Thailand??😜
  17. Not making excuses for the inexcusable BUT I believe I read somewhere that often the lowest quote for a construction is accepted but only if the constructor reduces the price still further. If this is the case then it hardly makes for a "healthy" construction environment.

    Health Farms

My Thai partner (60 ish) is looking tired and I want to get her some of pampering and relaxation. Anyone know of such places in Korat? Alternatively, what English words do the Thais use for such establishments so I can do a Google - "health farms Korat Thailand" gets a lot of hits for CP foods and whilst she ain't a spring chicken she's not ready for the chop yet!!! - I know I will get smart ass answers but surely there are some serious people who might have suggestions.
  19. Didn't you forget something? That's it I'm sure you feel better now!
  20. Yes I am sure we can agree on that. Just saying you (not you specifically) are confused without saying what you are confused about seems to be a frivolous exercise indulged in by some of the many negative posters on the site who have nothing better to do.
  21. There seems to be a very confused poster on this thread
  22. It is possible that far from putting her political future in doubt this decision has ensured it. Whilst not denying that within politics, corruption occurs far too often, I think that people are becoming somewhat disenchanted with this way of disenfranchising political rivals and may well (in France at least) make their feelings apparent at the ballot box (whether that be for her or her chosen successor).
