  1. You were faster. From experience DTAC is worse in remote areas. For me here much weaker than AIS. Can't contribute about TRUE.
  2. What provider is he using? I assume he receives a 4G signal. Serious antenna stuff needs to be placed outside and best on a pole (and directed, try and error). What's the next major city where you might find specialists/shops that have such equipment. Also worth browsing online. https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/4g-outdoor-antenna (change to English)
  3. Good point. The article is a general trip advice for US tourist. Not the slightest detail about specific routes, checkpoints, land border etc.
  4. With very rare exceptions (like the mentioned "King Taksin" holiday in eastern Thailand) office holidays are identical over the country. And the calendar can be found/linked on other immigration sites (identical).
  5. No idea what he has to do with THIS story/video? Made his way from the US to Russia and sure no stopover in Phuket.
  6. Correct. Simple careless turn in by the truck driver. Complete blind/blackout. You can't believe it except you have seen it. Driver unconscious or the infamous brake failure? It's a T-junction. So no way the truck could turn in at that speed (formula 1 like). The video link:
  7. Never noticed/heard before. Not in the calendar here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1243044-thai-holidays-2022/ or any other that I know. So as others wrote, closed on: Mon, Dec 12th (tomorrow) Fri, Dec 30th (Sat 31st/Sun 1st following) Mon, Jan 2nd But you can go on Christmas and bring presents
  8. I think the reigning world champion has. World champion 1998 and 2018. Two times European champion. England is a little bit longer away. I just forgot
  9. That makes sense. The infamous HW 36. Frequent accidents. Heavy trucks en masse.
  10. Sue but never heard this name before. And searching shows this thread as first hit ???? Without numbers it's a guessing game. Chonburi Rayong is 80 km.
  11. Interesting! Indeed 4.0 for cash, exchange rate 4.9. That's heavy.
  12. If your phone is not hacked/rooted you will not be able to delete essential stuff. Some apps can be stopped/deactivated but not deleted/uninstalled. There are methods to get rid of more bloatware but not trivial (developer mode. USB debugging, Android debugger on a PC).
  13. Yes selfish but I used every opportunity to travel during Covid times (before the grand opening in Oct). Just went through my pictures and I was surprised myself how often I traveled. I knew that this chance won't come back (hopefully some would say). From Jun 2020 to Nov 22 I did ten trips to Pattaya, one combined with Samui, one with Phuket. Christmas in Phuket, New Year in Pattaya. Won't happen again. And I regret no a single day. The last trip in November refreshed memory about crowds, jams, delayed/expensive flights etc. etc.
  14. Two pickup drivers with no brain and eyesight crashing into an overturned truck. Lucky that this didn't cost lifes. What road (number) is this? 331?
  15. Yes that was seemingly a glitch in flightstats. The rest remains in the dark, Danes or Swedes
  16. Flying must be so much fun these days. That's the flight history for the plane that landed in Krabi (SE-RFZ, 787-9 Dreamliner). Travellers can call them self happy with delays less than 4 hours or so. Record about 10 hours. Bring big lunch boxes.
  17. Flightstats knows different. I am more than confused. Flightstats says the plane originated in Stockholm and had a 9:42 hour delay! It should have landed before sunrise (5:20) instead landed at 15:02. Maybe the Danes had be carted to Stockholm? And the video shows it in daylight. Can't find any other TUI flight. The tracking (route/height) is like a rollercoaster. Not exactly a dreamline. Would love to know whether this report is correct or flightstats?
  18. Sending an exact amount of Thai Baht and in an instant? If possible at all Western Union might be an option. Expect bad rate/high cost. Transferwise has some options to hold and send money in Thai Baht. But quite an effort to setup just for one transaction. Clueless.
  19. And you? Do you have a Thai bank account? If so, why would the person not send an approximate amount to your account?
  20. Paying exact Thai Baht amount from NZ to a Thai bank account? Did I get that right? Does the seller offer credit card payment?
  21. Can't take screenshots of the app, It's protected. Will try another method later.
  22. Take id card and passport with you. At our hospital they helped me at the front desk but had to call/video some specialist to get data entered/changed
  23. Oops Just opened the app first time after a while and it's complete redone/new. For me it took a visit to the district hospital with passport and pink card to get all three jabs in the system. And it's ok. Shows passport number AND Thai foreigner ID. As the app is so completely redesigned I hesitate to give advice how it should/could work. Best you visit the district/public hospital to get things in line.
  24. Just opened successfully. Access denied?: for whatever reason your IP/ISP is rejected. Quite unusal for Thai sites.
