But his luxury yacht (1xx million Dollar) left German shipyard before upgrade work completed. About a week ago or so Was it in the news here already? Russia forbid British planes to use it's airspace. Some hefty detours to east Asia (if there are any flights).

Concerns About Krungthai Bank
KhunBENQ replied to SeaMike01's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
For me KTB always stands for mayhem. Most crowded usually. But what you expect if all public servants/government officers etc. get their payment through KTB. They are also the "teller" for the revenue department (all tax reimbursements etc. go through KTB). Certain traffic tickets (highway police) always through KTB. They are burdened with official/government/tax related tasks. -
Concerns About Krungthai Bank
KhunBENQ replied to SeaMike01's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
To be sure I double checked on the KTB site: So from the 5th withdrawal at another banks ATM within a (calendar) month it's a 5(!) Baht fee (within the "clearing zone"). -
Concerns About Krungthai Bank
KhunBENQ replied to SeaMike01's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Seen after posting. No need to transfer, just use the SCB/Bangkok Bank/Kasikorn/.... ATM. Four times a month without fee. After that probably 15 Baht. -
Concerns About Krungthai Bank
KhunBENQ replied to SeaMike01's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
The 500 Baht note thing happens from time to time. Not being able to withdraw 25k e.g. offered 12.5k in 500 notes. Usually I cancel. Many people withdraw multiples of 1000 and the ATM SW never seems to care for a mix of notes. Would they balance the amount the notes I might not happen that often. I think you know that four times a month you can withdraw at another banks ("cash pool") ATM without an extra fee? That's what I do if "my" ATM plays foul. -
Concerns About Krungthai Bank
KhunBENQ replied to SeaMike01's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Don't be concerned. Very similar trends e.g. at Kasikorn bank. Closing many ATM locations. Closing branches. Firing staff. One Thai neighbor lost his job at SCB long ago and now managing a mom&pop shop. It's all about cost cutting, overinflated staff and bureaucracy. Have you ever experienced how long it takes for simple affairs like changing some data for your account? Adopting to rest of world where traditional bank services are going down since long. I bet there will soon be new pricing policy. Fees for using transfer slips (paper) as an example. Pushing customers to self-service/internet/paper less/forcing cash less. -
Maybe my phone shows exact time because I do the unthinkable: switch it off every night. What a privilege

deleted why should I get excited about thoughtless babble.

No. Just checked and the deviation is less than a second (as good as visual compare allows to see). Phone lags behind a fraction. I compared with this site: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zone/thailand/bangkok To be sure I use a GPS test tool on the phone and this website is exact to the what visual compare can verify. (GPS Test by ChartCross Limited, quite feature rich)

This is the QR code for their LINE id. https://line.me/R/ti/p/%40382lwcyu Most promising if you ask me.

Their contact site: https://www.dlt.go.th/site/kanchanaburi/m-news/5302/view.php?_did=29509 Email would be: dltkanchanaburi01 (at) gmail.com But don't expect to get an answer for an email. Particularly in English. Many government email addresses are data bins. There is a whole bunch of tel.nr. on the site. Do you speak Thai or have a Thai person to help?

What I can tell for sure: flight TO Bangkok requires nothing. That's official rule. I tried hard to find specific rules for minors to no avail. Worst case: back to Phuket showing an up-to-date (72h) ATK test result is sufficient to the rules. Unofficial: I flew to Phuket last December. No vax cert. or tests required/asked for, nothing (I am vaxxed).

And no silly "out of region" fees nationwide.

#1, whenever possible. Such things can happen. I only once got my card eaten and that was in Spain some 2x years ago. Had misc "communication errors"/"aborted" and things in Thailand over the years when I still used a foreign card. Very little that I can remember with the local ATM cards.

Thai TV hardly covered the Olympics - what else will we miss?
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in General Topics
I tried to hide the circumstances and enjoy the downhill events. But it's difficult to overlook that this was a very depressing darkened event. This corrupt a..kisser Thomas Bach makes me sick. For him it's always been great if just the money machine runs. -
Thai TV hardly covered the Olympics - what else will we miss?
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in General Topics
Are there really people who expect that free Thai TV stations do cover Winter Olympics?? ???? Stations that depend on commercials? I will ask German public TV to cover Takraw championships. It's easier to sell heaters in Dubai than interesting Thais in bobsledge. Ridiculous. -
Internet (only) speed with a simcard router, Ais, Dtac or True?
KhunBENQ replied to Felt 35's topic in IT and Computers
Yep. I was surprised when I checked DTAC coverage map just recently. Had not looked into for many years. Of course one has to decide what he is willing to pay. For cheap you get 10 to 20 Mbit/s flatrates as low as about 1300 to 1900 Baht/year. High datarates often with volume capping on monthly basis (60 / 100 GB) or really expensive. -
And here we go. The "I am the toughest" madness starts. Buriram: shutdown of all(?) entertainment business. Khon Kaen: alcohol prohibited in restaurants aka. no alcohol in any establishment. What a nice contrast to the planned easing of entry rules. Now shutdown Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket and enjoy the silence? Madhouse.
