Four ladyboys have been arrested in connection with the violent robbery of an Australian tourist in Pattaya, more than seven months after the alleged attack took place.
Tourist Police announced the arrests on Monday, 27 July 2026, following a lengthy investigation into the incident involving 53-year-old Australian national Mr Rajinish.
Police said the robbery occurred on 27 December 2025 when Mr Rajinish reported that a group of ladyboys attacked him and stole his belongings in the resort city.
Months-long investigation
After receiving the complaint, investigators from Pattaya Police Station and the Tourist Police Division examined CCTV footage and gathered witness statements to identify those responsible.
On 29 June 2026, the Pattaya Provincial Court issued arrest warrants for four suspects on charges of jointly committing robbery at night and jointly assaulting another person, causing physical and mental harm.
Officers from Tourist Police Subdivision 4, Group 2, Tourist Police Division 1 spent several weeks tracking the suspects. Police said some had left Pattaya while others had remained in the city.
The four suspects were arrested at separate locations:
● Peerapong, 19, outside a condominium in Pattaya.
● Phimphisa, 20, outside a condominium in Pattaya.
● Chanachai, 20, outside a restaurant in Maha Sarakham province.
● Phongsakorn, 18, at a residence in Ratchaburi province.
According to police, all four admitted they were the people named in the arrest warrants and seen in CCTV footage from the scene. However, they denied the specific charges against them.
The suspects have since been handed over to investigators to face legal proceedings.
