"Actively investigating". Good. Now, how about "actively patrolling", and doing it 24 hours a day. Spouse and I drive down Beach Road a lot, usually NEVER seeing any cops on patrol. The only cop we ever sometimes see is a cop by Central Festival--and the last couple of times we went to Festival even that cop was nowhere in sight. Get out of the air-conditioned office and do some patrolling--it's not good that "bystanders" are always the ones that have to intervene when something like this happens. We should be reading: "Police on duty patrolling the beach quickly intervened . . .".

I was approached a few time late at night down the one way street I used to walk home along twenty years ago when there were a lot of ladyboys in Phuket, they would see me, stop the bike and so I trotted off down the one way street.

They could not catch me as they were wearing high heels and it was a one way street, I used to laugh and so did they, not violent I assumed but one would touch you and while that was a distraction the other would steal your wallet I was told by a long term resident of Phuket.

They all seemed to have gone nowadays as most of the tourists are in groups, Chineses, Indians, Europeans etc, and seem to be mostly families with kids or couples, I think the lone sex tourists have all now changed their holiday destination in Thailand to Pattaya.
