Pakistani passenger jailed after Dubai-Bangkok assault

A Pakistani man accused of sexually assaulting a Thai woman on a flight from Dubai to Bangkok has been jailed for three years, fined 120,000 baht and permanently barred from returning to Thailand, according to the victim.

The woman announced the reported outcome in a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 5, two days after the alleged assault took place while she was travelling with her four-year-old daughter.

She posted a photograph of the man with police officers and wrote: "If you commit a crime, you have to face the consequences. Three years in prison, a 120,000 baht fine and blacklisted from entering Thailand ever again.

"Thank you to the inspector and Tourist Police for all your help. Don't ever do this to anyone again."

Alleged assault took place during flight

The case began on August 3 aboard the Dubai-Bangkok service, when the woman said she had fallen asleep during the journey.

She alleged that she woke after feeling somebody touching her buttock and noticed wetness beneath her blanket. She later said she found the Pakistani passenger staring at her.

After the aircraft landed in Bangkok, cabin crew escorted the man away for questioning. An airline employee reportedly noticed what appeared to be semen stains on the woman's trousers.

The woman said the man apologised, but she refused to accept it and asked police to arrest him.

Tourist Police and immigration involved

Tourist Police, the Immigration Bureau and Don Mueang Police Station subsequently opened an investigation, before the woman shared the reported sentence and immigration ban on August 5.

Her Facebook post drew widespread support, with users leaving messages saying they were pleased that she had received justice.

Bit over the top. It was a moderate crime not major. 3 years jail is about right. Be out in 18 months good behaviour. It was gross and perverted but not aggressive.

This cannot be serious. So he groped the leg of a sleeping woman and came on it.

Of all the crimes that can happen , this is barely a crime.

There is no physical or financial damage than a stain on her pants.

The woman over reacted big time.

Explains why FlorC gave my "what a weirdo" post a thumbs down. "Barely a crime", really? Seems to be o.k. behavior in FlorC's world. Yes, scumbags posting on the Forum.............

We have trustworthy flight attendants for any real emergency.

To watch for passengers rifling through overhead baggage boxes for valuables?

I think there is a point that the lady should have been as alert as possible with a small child to keep an eye on, rather than taking sleeping aids, whatever they were. Sad state of affairs though...

I would want to get him out of the country ASAP with a lifetime ban, and give my hands a good washing after he left.

I get the uncomfortable feeling that there are a few contributers making light of the situation and/or victim blaming.

100%. Some of the comments on this thread are disgusting and make me almost ashamed to be a man - or even human..

Agree also with the rest of your post. The effects can be mortifying and long term and ruin lives, something the misogynists don't accept. And I can't quote firm statistics but I've read time and again that something like a third of all girls have been sexually harassed or abused before the age of 15. Often by relatives. By 20 that's gone up to 50% in some form or another.

And abuse of women is regarded like some of the pigs on this thread do; like an amusing distraction, one that tends to involve 'come on dear don't over do it', why didn't you report it back then' or the classic misogynist's victim blame with rape: 'you shouldn't have dressed that way dear and he wouldn't have spunked on you'.

They are comments by those with not enough basic humanity to feel for or understand the actual victim, for whatever reason. I certainly wouldn't trust them or abide them in my closer circle.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to post and even the balance a little.

Up to 65% of girls in Thailand molested, in schools and homes, by the time they reach 17. Yes, the replies by a few here are very anti-women and worse.Easy to imagine how they might be in person around females, and sadly some females will pay the price for their company.

The male population of both Pakistan and India have little if any respect for females . For a Western lady to visit these countries without a male partner is danger . So is dressing in Western style clothes that may show some body parts . Harassment , sexual assaults plus groping on local females in public areas are common and carry low conviction rates .

The Pakistani and Indian low class men think that their disgusting actions are tolerated in other countries .

Also their habits and general behavior leave a lot to be desired from my personal experience of them within Thailand .

Then it would be a gay dude cuming on me ?😄

I don't have that much sexappeal.

I'd rather he cums on me than puke or worse.
