Pattaya Bolt Driver Filmed Kicking Tourist in Street

A video circulating on Facebook and TikTok shows a Thai man allegedly kicking a foreign tourist from behind, sending him tumbling onto a road in Pattaya. The 38-second clip captures the moment the tourist falls onto the street before bystanders step in to intervene. The post was captioned: “คนขับ Bolt ทำแบบนี้ไม่น่ารักเลย” (“A Bolt driver behaving like this is not nice”).

The incident is believed to have taken place near a street food market along Jomtien Beach Road, Chon Buri province. The exact date and time remain unconfirmed. However, local reporters visiting the location on 3 March 2026 estimated the altercation occurred around two weeks earlier.

The timing is based on signage seen in the clip referring to a parking area for the Squid Festival, which was held on 13–14 February. When journalists returned to the scene, the festival parking signs had already been removed. This suggests the confrontation likely happened during the period of the event.

A 37-year-old umbrella and beach chair attendant, identified only as Ms May, told reporters the incident occurred about two weeks ago while Pattaya was hosting the Squid Festival. She said she did not know the cause of the dispute.

Additional information gathered by reporters indicates the confrontation begun after a Bolt app-based taxi driver dropped off a foreign passenger in front of the street food market. It is believed that an argument broke out between the driver and the tourist. The driver then kicked the tourist from behind, causing him to fall to the ground, as shown in the video.

Reporters contacted Pattaya City Police Station for further details. Police confirmed that, as of now, no formal complaint has been filed in connection with the incident.

The video has prompted widespread criticism online, with social media users questioning the driver’s behaviour. Authorities have not announced any investigation and without a formal complaint, it remains unclear whether further action will be taken. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed.

Seems a bit late to be making a fuss now. Possibly the tourist went home.

He may be having problems the poor man , and we certainly shouldn't judge

He was lucky it didn't deteriorate to the usual 7 - 1 mob beating.

I love it, sometimes it's the only way to get people to stop being disrespectful and nasty.

A slap on the wrist doesn't work.

I often see these big mouthed, elderly bald guys on soi Buakhou, a little kick up the cake hole is what they need.

I don't agree with kicking his shoe, that's going too far 😂

Tourists getting beat down is unique to Thailand in the region.

Of course it will be an assumption, but it really looks in the end of the video that the tourist is showing something on his mobile. Maybe it is the Bolt app with price and payment and the driver got angry for not giving in to his alternative price. That´s very common. In that case, the tourist probably got irritated and angry and said something bad to the driver. Nothing more needed to have such result here. Can also be the tourist arguing about the price, or just not happy as the drop off place made it too far to walk.

No one knows, but it´s only a full-blown coward who kicks anyone in the back.

How do you know this is a BOLT driver? Is it because GRAB drivers don't do such a thing? Questions upon questions...

I wonder what the reactions would be if 5 foreigners all came over and started beating the bolt driver.

When l have friends holidaying from overseas here, we use Bolt a lot, but recently many problems have arisen with Bolt drivers. eg refusing to give change, the wrong car arrives being a different one shown on the app. Not being taken to the correct destination, cars or pickups in poor state of repair!!!!

Long waiting times up to 30 minutes or no car available, dangerous driving etc, etc. Luckily this only accounts for 10% of the rides. Most are good careful drivers especially the woman!!!!!!!

Most Bolt drivers are professional but there are always the few bad apples. We had a bad tempered guy in Jomtien who drove dangerously and was more interested in having an argument on his phone than driving. Almost hit pedestrians and cars whilst passing Rompo market. Became angry when I said be careful.

My girlfriend reported him, 99% are great its just that tiny percentage of crazies that you need to worry about.

Is there a BOLT sign on their cars? I guess these are just like GRAB private vehicles?

You know! It might just be because the tourist informed about that.

Why do you accuse him of being intoxicated. Is it because he is falang and you assume we all get pissed. You should see my Thai father in law he drinks a bottle Thai whisky for breakfast.

As I see it he was not drunk nor argumentative as he held his hand up and was not shouting back at the Bolt driver. It only showed the aggressive Bolt driver who was totally in the wrong, even if the Farang disputed, I assume, the fare. There is no justification to kick an older person in the rear which, if you noticed, forced him further into moving traffic on the road where he could of had severe injuries. Back to the fare. The driver could have resolved this with polite negotiation or got an RTP cop to settle the dispute. If he could find one? In short Bolt driver is an ass.

the man didnt look intoxicated at all, so he was probably arrogant, i can only assume it was about the cost over the taxi.

in any case: ALWAYS make an agreement on the price before jumping on the taxi, and double check so that the price is agreed on,

same goes for prostitutes and everything else
