Thai Man Assaulted by Tourist on Pattaya Beach

No excuse for assaulting anybody, be it a foreigner, a local or no matter what argument.

But on the other hand why did the food delivery chap, go beyond his line of duty, open his mouth and start giving a lecture to some drunk foreigner on a beach ?

Why the lame, derogatory reference to a "Thai man/boy"? The only riot act reading was in your own head - a peaceful, polite request from the Thai was what was actually reported.

Since when is politely asking someone to stop smoking an illegal substance in public that is affecting him "giving a lecture"?

I'm doubting your assertion that you bought a sidearm here when I know for a fact that it does not happen legally and has not done for a number of years. "Local policemen" do not have the authority to sell firearms to, or to arrange the sale of firearms to, foreigners in Thailand so let's hear your story about the last time that you bought a firearm in Thailand legally.

Guns are not outright illegal in Thailand, but civilian ownership is tightly controlled through a licensing system that most people, especially foreigners, will never qualify for. The governing law is the Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, Fireworks and Imitation Firearms Act B.E. 2490 (1947), which requires a government-issued license for virtually every firearm-related activity, from owning a handgun to importing a replica pistol.

Get a permit to buy from your local tessabhan, need to explain the reason you wish to purchase.

Go to your preferred outlet and purchase, take back to tessabhan, they register and they issue you a licence to own, and optional licence to travel with said weapon. Of course this is all irrelevant since 2014 👍

I don’t get it.

Thailand is pretty much up in arms about badly behaved foreigners who may or may not be tourists, plus TAT are making a thing of targeting quality tourists. So why not go full court press and legally charge said foreigners/tourists who behave badly and break several laws in one incident.

Of course I know the answer, Thailand is all talk and no change.

This kind of thing basically never happens in Singapore, the consequences are too severe and therefore these type of people don’t go there, or behave themselves if they do.

As I say on here over and over, Thailand gets the tourists it deserves because the product on offer appeals to that kind of person. So might as well do what Thailand basically does now, which is milk these people for as much as they can get and put up with the nonsense they create.

Not so great for the general population not making a living off tourists, but there you go, they got to put up with it

Of course foreigners will never qualify for a gun licenve, foreigners are forbidden to own guns in Thailand.

What has that got to do with the incident in question in which a member of the public illegally smoking cannabis attacked another person for requesting that he stop? The person who complained was not the attacker.

Indeed it's not the alcohol/cannabis: It's the sh*t lode of jerks here. Alot of folks mix the two, wine and edibles, myself included . This guy is more likely also one of these obnoxious, entitled cigarette smokers. And the majority of these sh*t birds in the news are these white male cigarette smoking eurotrash. A country like Thailand can still have a "party " scene sans the jerks like Singapore
