Thai Woman Surrenders After Stabbing Polish Man in Sattahip

A 51-year-old Thai woman surrendered to police in Bang Saray, Sattahip, Chon Buri, after allegedly stabbing a 54-year-old Polish man in the chest during a dispute over their dogs. The victim sustained serious injuries and was given first aid by emergency responders before being transported to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital. He has since been reported to be out of critical condition.

The incident occurred near Ban Khao Chi Chan School following an altercation between the two parties while walking their dogs. According to the suspect, identified as Jindaporn, the dispute began when the Polish man’s dog allegedly tried to bite her dog. She claimed the situation escalated when the man attempted to assault her husband, who is around 70 years old, prompting her to use a knife in what she described as self-defence.

Later that evening at around 10pm, Bang Saray subdistrict head Worarit Jangborworn, along with district administrative officers and Lt. Col. Sila Sa-chai, deputy inspector of Sattahip Police Station, surrounded the suspect’s residence near the scene. After negotiations, Jindaporn exited the property and surrendered to authorities. She admitted to the stabbing but maintained that her actions were defensive.

Police have indicated that the victim’s initial account of events differs from that of the suspect, highlighting conflicting versions of how the altercation unfolded. Authorities plan to conduct a reconstruction of the incident at the scene based on Jindaporn’s testimony. Investigators will also obtain a full statement from the Polish man once he has sufficiently recovered from his injuries.

The case remains under investigation as officers continue gathering evidence and testimonies from both parties. Legal proceedings will depend on the findings of the reconstruction and witness statements, as well as medical reports detailing the extent of the victim’s injuries. Police have not yet confirmed any formal charges.

In the UK, just carrying a knife would be a very serious crime.

Dogs going after one another are par for the course. Most all here are polite and know it is their nature. They are kept on leashes here in Medellin. I walk two small dogs twice a day in the city. We just pull them apart when they start going at one another . Most of the times smiling and sometimes start a conversation.. I am always amazed how loved and well taken care of dogs are here. You never see a stray or a dog mistreated. In Thailand totally opposite.

Every day at the park I let them off their leash and they don't play with the other dogs but have yet to start a fight. A 180 from when I lived in Thailand.

Oh my Buddha, the highly praised Thai-Polish friendship has cracked and is at stake. Poland has recalled its ambassador from Bangkok and has temporarily stopped issuing visas to Thais. What happens next? Public burning of flags?

Not the first time.

Fifteen years ago, on Soi Diana, a fellow from Finland was walking his dog, A girl sitting with her Western boyfriend in a nearby beer bar ran to the dog, picked it up, cuddling it and took it to their table to show her boyfriend. The BF (I forget what nationality) was drunk and jealous, grabbed the dog and tossed it roughly. The dog owner reacted as one would expect and a fight ensued, the dog owner getting the best of it before bar staff stepped in.

Seemed over. The guy went on with his dog.

The girl for whatever reason went to their nearby room and got a knife; later saying in court, it was for cutting fruit. When the dog owner was walking back, the drunk BF attacked him with the knife and killed him.

The case dragged-on for more than a year. Bail was arranged and naturally the killer skipped. I never heard of him being brought back.

One man looses his life walking a dog. This latest incident could easily have ended up the same. Just so stupid.

As much as I love dogs (except some breeds), this is an example of why it's a bad idea to have a dog.

If it was the Polish man's dog that attacked first, why is the Polish man escalating?

The woman must have said something nasty, but it's normal as people will be protective of their dogs. Polish idiot should have apologized.

No problem, she is Thai and the victim is a foreigner. She may get away with a softer sentence.

No, he lost his life assaulting someone.

When you attack someone, there is chance they will kill you.

If someone kicks your dog, you try to get your dog to safety and get out of there, not retaliate.

You need to control the rage and the ego and urge to get revenge. Easier said than done, but that's what we should all be doing in those situations.

Just like this situation where the Polish guy seemed to instigate it and nearly got himself killed.
