The Russian Ambassador described this as "an illegal takeover"

Of course the Ukraine wasn't

Nothing to do with "Ukraine" which has millions of Russians living there for centuries and they have only moved into Crimea which is 75% Russian.  Stay on topic.

Apologies it was the Crimea. The Crimea was gifted to Ukraine 60 years ago by Russia which makes it  100%  Ukrainian. If you give someone a gift you no longer own it. It's true many Russians live in the Crimea. We have cities in the UK which have large proportions of people from various ethnic groups living in them. We don't regard those cities as being part of other nations.

This whole hacking thing has got me rather confused.... I can't quite figure out who was benefiting, if trump, why not let it die down... if Clinton, well that failed, so again, why not let it die down?

sure... sort these security issues before the next election, but actively pursuing it seems pointless.... as does creating an international incident over diplomatic immunity. Once the building is vacated, burn it down... whatever... all good

No matter who benefited, a hostile government hacked US election computers and published the results on the internet. That needs to be investigated and responded to. It's not the first time either.

It needs to be actively pursued. An international incident was created when Russia did the hacking. That was the spark.

Get back to policies of the nutter POTUS and people will rally round.

This topic is about the Russian hacking. And the subsequent events. Not the potus nor his nutter policies. There are other threads for that! LOL
