    CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla (Reuters) - NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and two crewmates made a parachute touchdown in Kazakhstan on Saturday, capping a career-total 665 days in orbit, a U.S. record.

    Malta-based charity group suspends Mediterranean migrant rescues

    ROME (Reuters) - A Malta-based humanitarian group that has been rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean for three years said on Monday it was suspending operations after months of rising tensions with Italian and Libyan authorities.

    PHUKET: -- Former Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut, who is now the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), yesterday announced the beginning of a series of meetings to be held in Patong all week focussing on the development of women’s and children’s rights throughout Asean.

    Bang Tao crocodile has a name

    Local villagers living around the area spoke to the Phuket Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Centre saying that there were some saltwater crocodiles spotted near Bang Tao and Layan Beach for decades.

    PHUKET: -- After another veterinarian checkup, the saltwater crocodile found in an old tin mine near Layan and Bang Tao beaches has been named “Laypang”. Fisheries Officers visited a crocodile farm, show and zoo but haven’t found yet any record about a missing crocodile while the Marine Specialist said that this maybe the beginning of a saltwater crocodile study in Thailand.

      Thai researchers develop mechanical robot arm for bomb disposal operations

      Man found hiding in forest arrested over young girl’s murder
