Clue emerges about Yingluck’s escape route

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said on Friday surveillance cameras recorded a car travelling past a military checkpoint in eastern Sa Kaeo province that might have been carrying former premier Yingluck Shinawatra as she fled the country.

He called it the first “solid evidence” to emerge from a two-week investigation of Yingluck taking the easterly route.

 

Prawit said the CCTV cameras could track the vehicle’s movement no further, so there was no evidence that it crossed the border into Cambodia. 

 

Officials are trying to track down the car’s driver for interrogation, he said. 

 

Prawit said Yingluck could have taken any of several other routes through the area and they too were being scrutinised.

Didn't we all see a story here a few days ago claiming that the investigation was 80% complete?

Here is a big clue: The clue is...........that they are clueless!

How is that any kind of "solid evidence"? All the CCTV proves is that a car drove past a military checkpoint in eastern SA Kaew province. I am sure it wasn't the only one that day.

She might have been in the car, is the first solid evidence they have.

And that is all the sort of evidence you need to convict someone of something they didn't do in this country.

She wasn't hiding in the trunk and passing military checkpoints, sneaking around like a thief in the night. It doesn't fit with these big face hi-sos. She will have travelled with full permission from a senior junta boy, and with the full convoy of outriders and security. Give me the cctv tapes if they didn't notice a 10 car convoy with wailing blues and 2's heading for Poipet.

The route she took out of Thailand certainly is interesting, because it may shed light on who helped her disappear.

 

But more pertinent is where she is NOW, and that almost certainly is not Cambodia.

 

Of course, it's entertaining to focus on how to she out as opposed to how to get her back from wherever she is now -- which clearly isn't going to happen.

 

Collusion, is the only clue that will not be admitted Too,

I'm sure there are some unusually wealthy border immigration officers, long in the employ of big brother Thaksin, who know exactly how she fled Thailand to Cambodia.

Oh, golly - gosh, whatever next? Prawit would seem to be saying "I'm definitely not 'over it', even if you are, boss . . . "

I could have sworn that, at Wednesday's press meeting, P1 said 'I'm over it, why don't you get over it and stop asking pointless Q's' . . . not necessarily exactly his words, but the message is clear. Evidently P2 wants 'it' to run and run, maybe thinking - or hoping or praying - that, when he's done 'scrutinising' - fabulous word! - the several other routes and discovered who was driving the car that had the audacity to travel past a military checkpoint, he'll come up trumps.

 

What a great double act they are - to be continued next week, after a weekend's well-earned rest and recuperation

The vehicle which was believed to take ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra out of her home in Bangkok was seen near the Thai-Cambodian border in Sa Kaeo province, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said on Friday (Sept 8).

 

According to him, the suspicious sedan was captured by CCTV camera near a military checkpoint on a local road leading to the Thai-Cambodian border in Sa Kaeo province.

 

However, the sedan did not make through the borderline as surveillance cameras installed at the checkpoint could not capture the vehicle, Gen Prawit said.

She could be dead, out of the country, or being detained somewhere. Take your pick. Nobody knows what has happened to her!

The junta has either taken acting lessons or they truly have no idea where she is.  What they are printing is garbage.  A pick up truck going to the border ?  That is all as they just said their investigation, as mentioned before, is 80% done.  They should stop talking until they know something, but that is not how things are done in Thailand.
