Yingluck’s whereabouts still unknown: Don

BANGKOK: -- Nearly three weeks after Yingluck Shinawatra failed to show up in court to hear the verdict in the malfeasance case against her, authorities remain uncertain as to where the fugitive former premier might be.

Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said on Tuesday that it was still unclear in which country Yingluck was hiding, but the Foreign Ministry was following all possibilities closely.

 

The ministry had not yet found Yingluck to be seeking asylum anywhere, he added.

 

Authorities must first have direct visual evidence that it was indeed her before confirming she was in any particular location, he stressed. 

 

However, there have been no notifications of her whereabouts so far, apart from the various unreliable news reports circulating about her disappearance, the minister said.

 

Regarding reports that the ex-PM had fled through Sa Kaeo province to Cambodia, Don said his ministry had not “reached out” to that country, but officials of both nations were discussing the matter.

She has not left thailand. Where is the proof of her entering any country?

Well, I read that Interpol have officially put up their wanted poster for the Red Bull turd. Based on that notice, we can expect a similar one for Yingluck any decade now.

Unknown???...Please!...Give me a break!

No evidence of her leaving and her whereabouts still unknown. IMO pretty smart plan. When the verdict is out on the 27 September and she is acquitted or suspended sentence, she appear none the worse legally except for the forfeiting of her bail and she remain in Thailand. If the verdict is harsh, she is gone and continue her fight outside Thailand. Seem a win win strategy.

Couldn't she be charged with absconding? I am sure they would be able to find / invent other charges too...

They haven't "reached out" to Cambodia yet but they are discussing the matter.   They have to first discuss having a discussion about having a discussion, before they have the actual discussion.   Government double speak gobbledigoop.

Love the double talk. They have spoken to Cambodia but have not done so officially ?  Is that what that means ?  It is like the Thai side doesn't really want to know and they hope the Cambodians won't spill the beans.

They dont do red notices for political inspired cases. That is why TS has never been put on a red notice.

and they said that they had contacted 190 countries.....there are only 194 in the entire world...so she could be in one of the 4 that they have NOT contacted !!!
