Anyone else Have a Syndome UPS ?

I have had a Syndome UPS for over ten years now and apart from changing the batteries a couple of times it has and is still working well.

The UPS came with a monitoring software program called "PowerView" This is a handy little program that lets you see the state of the batteries and lots of other things going on in the UPS. 59bf34281a521_PowViewScreen-01.JPG.ed4f0d1674fd35aeda3f06489e9c8415.JPG

Recently I upgraded to Windows 10 and the version of "PowerView" that came with the UPS ten years ago does not work on the new OS.

The Syndome web page does not look like it has a support for download software option. http://www.syndome.com/

I have contacted Syndome asking if they can E-Mail me an updated version of their "PowerView" program that will work on Windows 10, but so far have not had a reply.

In the meantime I was wondering if any of you nice gentlemen or ladies have a recent version of the "PowerView" program they could E-Mail me.

This program is not essential to the working of the UPS, the UPS performs just fine without it, It's just a nice piece of software to keep tabs on whats going on.

Cheers.

Have you tried using the Windows compatibility mode troubleshooter yet?   That is, seeing if the PowerView will run under Win 10 when setting it to run under an earlier Windows version...like setting it to Win 8 or 7 mode just for that app.   If not, see below website for  a couple of ways to run the compatibility mode on an app.   It has sure worked for me on a couple of old apps.

Yes I spent some time trying compatibility mode, tried various settings going right back to Windows XP.

This is as far as it goes:-    59c07740bc4fe_StartScreen!.jpg.39035cb97f86f8fca7d24a920b8168ac.jpg

Trying the various compatibility options I get This:-  59c077a395723_ThisAppCantRunonyurPC!.jpg.cf99f3783277e504e5af44880681a0c5.jpg

Think that is fairly definite that this program as it is will not run on my PC

I need an updated version

It's been almost a week now and have not heard back from Syndome.

Its disappointing when companies don't bother to even acknowledge a customer enquiry,  a simple "we have received your E-Mail would be nice"

I will send off a couple more and see what happens.

Maybe their email server was done....went down when the power went down and their Syndome UPS's didn't work to keep the server going.  :w00t:

Just kidding.  Yea, I know it can be frustrating sometimes in trying to get a response or getting a response that simply not a canned, scripted response that doesn't really address you issue(s).  I have experience both over the years with various manufacturers like ASUS when I had a router problem in that their responses were scripted and didn't really address my issue.  I would respond 'nicely' that they didn't address my specific questions and what did I get?  Just another scripted response.  I go back again with another email and while still polite pointing out they appear to be side-stepping the answering of my specific questions which was just technical questions regarding a problem I was having with their latest firmware update to my ASUS router.   Never got a response to that email either...and I even sent it again which also didn't get a response.

Get phone number from Google for Syndome Electronics Industry Co Ltd and give them a call. Thai language will be required for sure.
