Norwegian man’s arm pieced by iron grill

A Norwegian man was injured when he slipped and an iron grill pierced through his arm at his house in Chon Buri on Friday night, police said.

Rescuers had to use an iron cutter to free the left arm of Tore Wiig, 68, from the iron grill in front of his house in Chon Buri’s Sattahib district.

His Thai wife, Manthana Wiig, 44, said the accident happened at 9pm when rain caused the tile floor to be slippery. She said her husband was walking and slipped and fell towards the iron grill.

Maybe he had imbibed some alcoholic beverages?

Rain on a tiled floor is an equal opportunity hazard, it doesn't discriminate against those who've had a few drinks.

If he hadn't been drinking I bet he will be having a few when he is patched up. Just one of those freak accidents could happen to any one of us. Speedy recovery mate.

wonder if they left it in his arm but cut prox and distal ends of metal so it can be removed in hospital setting just in case some complication like uncontrolled bleeding?

there is "no slippery" tiles, used of outdoors, toilettes, kitchens, garbage rooms, there are little more expensive but safe from humans for injuries or even death.
invest in safety, number one insurance.
