Alleged dog killing student shows up to acknowledge charges against him

KORAT: -- The medical student who allegedly poisoned his dog in order to claim insurance money turned himself in to acknowledge the charge of cruelty against animals at Po Klang police station in Nakhon Ratchasima on Saturday night (Sept 23).

 

Pol Lt-Col Pichai Cherdchoo, deputy superintendent of Po Klang police station, said Sunday that Mr Pattharapong Songsapkul, a medical student of Mahidol University, showed up at the police station in the company of his family and a lawyer at about 8 pm to acknowledge the charges against him which he denied.

 

The suspect said he would give his statement in the court, said the police officer, adding, however, that he expected to proceed with the case to the Nakhon Ratchasima public prosecutor early October.

Student Accused Of Killing Dogs Too Ill For Prosecution, Lawyer Says

KORAT — A medical student charged with administering a fatal overdose to his pet Pomeranian in a failed extortion bid appeared on the eve of a police ultimatum to formally hear the charges against him.

 

Pattarapong Songsabkul made no statement after entering the Pho Klang Police Station with his parents and a lawyer to hear one count of animal cruelty. He refused to answer any police questions and said he would only speak in court. His lawyer said he is ill and unable to handle the cases against him.

That is the sort of person I would like to introduce to my dog....................

 

Then maybe he could reflect on what ill means.

 

 

For clarity, that is not my dog, mine wouldn't sit in one place that long and wouldn't give a warning...........

We have to hope that this callous medical student will never be allowed to practice on humans.

That is what 90% of Thai dog owners say when their "not dog" causes an accident,barks all night,poops everywhere or bites someone.

What about been charged with insurance fraud,why are the Police

not charging him with that ?, the authorities need to keep an eye

on him, starting on animals,then he will realize more money to be

made insuring humans.

Good that he went to the police station by himself, otherwise the BiB would have to get out of office at some point during the day.

Plenty don't like the way it is !

most rational people would agree that dog owners should take responsibility for their dogs actions  im sure you wouldn't like to be bitten or involved in  an accident and have to pay while the owner denies all responsibility.

Where are those pills? Might get some to get that mongrel black dog that tried to bite in the soi last night

very true; hopefully not enough to dodge the law on those grounds

Another story in the Thai press emerged a couple of weeks ago about this doctor pulling the same stunt with some Siamese fighting fish.
He bought a couple of the fish for 2000 Baht each 3 months ago and claimed they died in transit to Korat so got the seller to return the money. The seller at the time had doubts but paid up anyway.

He later posted his story up to Facebook ( Bettaworld Best) to warn others.
