Southern provinces brace for floods from expected heavy rains this week

Several provinces in the South are bracing for floods after the Meteorological Department warned of heavy monsoon rains this week in the southern region.

 

In Satun, the 12th Public Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office Yesterday (Sept 24) installed three more water pumps with draining capacity of 8,000 litres/minute to drain flood water to the sea via its irrigation canals day and night.

 

Chief of the disaster prevention and mitigation office, said the flood situation in Satun province has now eased after many areas were submerged for several days.
