NAKHON PATHOM, 26 September 2017 (NNT) – Nakhon Pathom province has geared up to establish its own industrial zone to foster economic development, eyeing 7 target industries with a budget of 2 billion baht.

The province has hired King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok to study the approach for setting up the industrial zone. Initial assessment has found the province to be conducive to livestock and fish farming, logistics, food and beverage production, processing, digital products, herbal pharmaceuticals and more.

The zone is to be created in Kamphaeng Saen district on a 1,150 rai plot of land using a budget of 2 billion baht. Two more plots will be open to private purchase to extend the zone if needed.

If the study indicates the plan is feasible, work on the zone can begin as early as 2020 and will take 3 years to complete.
