God, I'm glad I don't have to participate in any of this. I mean as far as I am concerned a true nightmare is an auditorium full of kids and soldiers! The only way of making it worse would be to add dogs and cats!

I don't usually make any sort of comment or air my personal opinions on Thai news bulletins, but in this particular case, the press releases have been coming out thick and fast... many I haven't posted here either.

I think that the government is making a huge effort to be seen by the public (and international observers) to be on the alert for any more potential bomb threats... they want to be seen as protective of their people... the children in particular... and in control of the country.

Just my 2 satang... :o

Among the planned offerings of innocent fun and delightful activities, JD seems to have missed this one in the morning Bangkok Post:

"Shows of military might are likely to draw larger crowds this year and the army has rolled out military hardware including tanks, anti-aircraft artillery and helicopters to the venue, which has been shifted from army headquarters to the Royal Plaza. "

If that's how the regime celebrates Children's Day- just wait till Armed Forces Day rolls around.
