Hi

I got last month as 12 mont Non B multi entry visa stamped in my passport.

I have 2 pages maybe 1 left in my passport, and I was wonder what is the process for transfering the Visa from my current passport, for when I get a new one from my home country consulate in BKK.

Now I tried to call Immigration in Pattaya..got number on their web site...and some girl answered who seemed to be attempting to sell me a vias run to cambodia.

So I emailed them to ask... and no answer back yet!!!

Any ideas?

I find this stuff can result in a real mess if not done right!

Thanks

Your current permitted to stay stamp should be transferred but do not believe Thailand transfers visas. You take the old passport with valid visa with your current passport to use as done in the US from my understanding.

Am I missing something here?

A couple of years ago I needed a new passport. When I got it, my embassy (USA), also gave me a letter to take to immigration.

I took my old and new passports to immigration and they transferred all of the visa (Non-O) information into the new one. Seemed pretty straightforward to me.

I've never had a B visa, but can't think of any reason that it would make a difference in getting it transferred.

Immigration needs to see the old (voided) passport and the new one. They got a nice stamp for the procedure and fill in your old passport number, arrival place- and date, visa-condition (Non-RE etc) put a new stamp in admitted on, until....

certifiy the whole thing and if you are under extension of stay repeat the details on next page, also certified.

So in your new passport 1 1/2 pages are gone....
