Siam Commercial Bank and Thammasat University’s Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy recently signed an agreement to jointly promote the “digital ecosystem”.

The “TU-SCB Smart Ecosystem” project will introduce digital innovations to encourage learning and raise service standards for students, staff and the university’s neighbouring community.

The aim is to get all individuals at both of the university’s campuses, at Tha Prachan and Rangsit, using digital technology in their daily lives.

The campuses would thus become prototype cashless universities, seen as a benefit to society.

Representing Thammasat University at the ceremony were the rector, Professor Dr Somkit Lertpaithoon, and dean of the faculty, Associate Professor Dr Pipop Udorn.

SCB was represented by president and chief executive Arthid Nanthawithaya and chief financial officer Kittiya Todhanakasem.

At the expense of privacy and freedom.  Cashless payments should be voluntary and not made mandatory.
