Tourism Tourism Shock: Thailand's Visitor Numbers See Alarming Plunge
In former days backpackers did some jobs and spend their money in the weekends and holidays for a few months. But with the visarules and outdated labour laws, it is almost impossible to for a backpacker to get a job here now and they come to visit the country, and go to a better destination... Thailand does not change anything for foreigners for the best, but make things more complicated for them, with the result they are losing them... Now the expats with the new tax law are being targeted.... How can you promote your country as foreign friendly?? -

Donald and the "little people".
Leaving politics aside and what policies Donald applies for a change. For the first time in their history "the little people of America" have a guy in office that talks like them, acts like them and thinks like them. Furthermore they admire him for his wealth, considering the fact that he had to start out with only with a measaly 200 Million $ from his dad to realise his American Dream. (How much of his wealth consists of bank loans is not of interest to his worshippers). Except for Elon Musk, few intellectuals and few helmsmen of large US companies see any long therm benefits resulting from Donalds economical "visions". Worldwide, news commentators have been asking the Oracle of Delphy "why was Donald voted into office once more"? The Oracle of Delphy replied: No one before talked, acted like us "little people before". "HE IS OUR GUY", at last. Not to forget, that before Donald, since the birth of the US, presidents originated mostly from a east coast elitarian "pseudo aristocracy" or people with massive financial backing. But not one of them talked and acted like Donald. That's Donald's "magic potion" that has mesmerised half of the voters. For the first time, the "little people" of the US feel truly "represented". I sincerely hope that Donald's Magic will help the little people of the US that they will not need to work 2 to 3 jobs by persueing the American Dream. -

The Only Rule in Thailand Is: Sod Everyone Else Innit
Always dragging politics into things. So, now that we're here, when was he convicted of Rape? I dont care for him, but facts are facts and everyone keeps calling him a rapist, but I dont recall him being convicted of rape. He was found liable in a civil court case for sexual abuse (totally different from rape) . Note: A civil proceeding is brought on by an individual who believes they've been wronged. Whereas a criminal case is brought on by the government (state / Federal) for a criminal act. Two very different things with allot less evidence required for civil court. -

When exactly is state pension frozen?
Might this depend on you being eligible for/in receipt of the "Old" or "New" State Pension? I became eligible for the "Old" pension on my 65th birthday in August 2014 (when I was already living in Thailand), but delayed claiming it until April 2015 with the aim of getting at least one triple-lock increase under my belt, which was duly achieved. However, I understand that this would not be possible in the case of the "New" pension (although am happy to be corrected by anyone more in the know). -
