Thai rock star Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai, the lead of singer of Bodyslam, has announced plans to embark on the longest run of his life — a 2,191 kilometer journey from Thailand’s southernmost to northernmost points, with the goal of raising THB700 million (US$21 million) for 11 public hospitals.

Artiwara, commonly referred to as “Toon Bodyslam,” said in a video presentation posted yesterday that he’s asking for pledges of just THB10 (about US$3) from each person willing to sponsor his run from Betong District in Yala province to Mae Sai District in Chiang Rai.

Artiwara is scheduled to start his journey on Nov. 1 and expects to finish on Christmas Day.

Shame the Government don't finance Public Hospitals properly instead of wasting billions of Baht on useless Submarines Tanks and Aircraft that are not needed !

"he’s asking for pledges of just THB10 (about US$3)"

The baht has strengthened since I last looked, this morning :D

Would give 2.191 THB to him and those running with him.

฿ for each km they run.

What they do is great, really great.

more diversion

Just another stunt, record sales must be down. If they could find some people and the money they have ripped out of this country, maybe it could go to help the hospitals and schools. Yea. Right.

I am quite prepared to believe he will START the run.

Approx 1 marathon per day for 55 days !!

Good luck with that buddy....

All this promised spending for hospitals and he hasn't even run one metre. Just wait until he finishes running his 38 km per day and see how much money he has raised.
