i'll say.....and wonder if anyone has actually made/trialled one yet.  I cant quite see how this would work.  Are they saying that vibrations from the exhaust pipe will vibrate the drum which will then force air into the cylinder?

I understand the principles behind standard turbo's and superchargers but this one has me beat.  Turbos use the exhaust gases to spin a turbine, whereas the supercharger uses the crankshaft to drive the turbine.

This looks too simple IMHO.  But sometimes the simplest things are the best....

It might work? Stranger things have happened. It is a diaphragm pump. Took me a few minutes to work out the diaphragm deflection!

Not small! About the same size as a dinner plate.

All the 16 year-olds in Europe will be all over these in their quest to get their 125 scooters to go faster

Karts used to have engine impulse diaphragm fuel pumps, chainsaws still do.  So it works for liquids. I think we will have to wait 9 years ,or whatever it is, until whatever patent they think they have has expired.  Then they might find their way onto scooters which have a significant airbox hanging off the side.

I wonder what sort of strange 'noise' these pumps will make or will the noise be drowned out but the increase of horsepower generated as sound out the muffler?

I do remember diaphragm pumps from something on the farm years ago...no real noise to speak of.

If you acquired one of these and coupled it with say after market FMF silencer/muffler/exhaust plus put in a programmable fuel controller what the increase in actual horsepower vs torque might be.  I did all of this less the diaphragm pump/turbo unit on a CRF250m and the increase was noticeable (Plus i also did the airbox mod).

It could be an interesting design to follow...
