Thought i would ask here. My friend who is Thai and has 2 kids is heading back to Thailand for a holiday. The both kids have Aussie passports. But as they will stay over 30 days. She was going to get them Thai passports. But someone told my wife. If the kids are under 15 then they can technically overstay as they are minors and are with mum. Any truth in this?

Children under the age of 15 are not fined for an overstay but do get overstay stamps.

They could though get one years extension at immigration based upon the their parent being a Thai national.

It would be best though if they got their Thai passport but if leaving in less than a month they likely would not have them by the they start their trip.

They could get the passports while here so they could use them for the next trip. Easy to apply for and they are sent by EMS within a week of application.
