January 10, 200719 yr Ok to put thailand address? or needs to be outside thailand I would tend to think that a consular officer expects to see an address outside of Thailand on a tourist visa application.

January 11, 200719 yr If you try and tell the Thai consul that you live in Thailand, but want a Tourist Visa, then you may well be out of luck.

January 11, 200719 yr If you try and tell the Thai consul that you live in Thailand, but want a Tourist Visa, then you may well be out of luck. The last time I applied for a tourist visa I had already been in Thailand for 5 1/2 months and an agent did the application for me in Penang. He definitely had no foreign address of mine to enter on the form...all I did was sign the form, so I'm not sure what address he used. Maybe he used agent privilege.

I had a similar experience, but I assumed he just used the address written in my passport.

January 11, 200719 yr I just put an old address in the UK even though I don't live there anymore or have any claim to it. I have been working offshore for many years and holidaying in Thailand each time off and have no other "home" other than Thailand to go to! What is the solution in cases like these?
January 11, 200719 yr I think you found it. Suspect many keep a postal forwarding service address these days - if no relatives they can use.
January 11, 200719 yr Now we apply for a tourist visa to get around more than 3 voa - when making the application , form requires permanent address . If we are in thailand permanently what address do you put? If you separate the fact that 2 different addresses are requested, it will be clearer: 1. T.V. application form is your address overseas. 2. Arrival card (white) this is where you will be staying in Thailand. Its a common problem that slips the mind - once in a while.
January 12, 200719 yr I had a similar experience, but I assumed he just used the address written in my passport. I have never seen an address recorded in a Passport.
January 12, 200719 yr Some do. The US passport has always had a place to record your address and emergency contact information. But you do it yourself and keep it up to date that way.
