Thai women like to complain that some Thai men are abusive and drunk bums. However why do the keep on dating and staying with these men?

Well, it could be.. For sure it's one of their favourite answers when the old farang ask them :- Why do you like me ?

I did also used to be an abusive drunk .

My GF threatened to leave me............and She did

I no longer drink and am no longer abusive

They stay, at least partly, due to fear.

 

Just in the last 7 days I have read news reports of two women (one of them heavily pregnant) being stalked and killed by the husband/boyfriend they have left due to abuse.

Well, first, this is Thailand and for most, Thai men are the choices... and that is why the overwhelming majority of people in the world have spouses from their own countries...

 

And as to part two - there are many many divorced women here... so many in their 30s++ - - so the answer is that many do not stay with the abusive ones. Enough have figured out that they are better off on their own and they share that info with others. 

 

I live out in the country and there is a large population of single moms and several of the younger ladies I know are fed up with their husbands just for drinking, even if not abusive. 

 

The guys are rather cavalier and there are many factors that go into this equation. 

problem is most thai men look at women as slaves, they expect once they are married they can do as they please, drink, screw around etc and they will always have a good little wife at home to cook, clean take care of their every whim etc. Problem is that thai women are realizing this and throwing them out, they want a husband that loves them, shares everything with them and has respect for them, does not screw around or get drunk and violent. Thai men have trouble accepting this because they are raised as number one and think that what they want trumps everything else so when the wife leaves them they lose it and want to make them pay, many are in reality unable to accept responsibility and have any rational thoughts other than what they want. This is one of the reasons thai females are looking for farang husbands, they dont want immature idiots who care nothing for anyone else

Replace 'Thai' with 'Brit' or 'American' and you can expand the conversation.

It's not only booze that drives the woman away now it's drugs also. There are a lot of broken families with this problem.

Thai women rights are just above the Soy Dogs. All with the Police agreement.

Same reasons any woman stays with an abusive husband. Kids, fear, money, age, etc etc. Thailand is no different to anywhere else. 

A drunk Thai male is bad maybe......but wait till you deal with a drunk Thai female !!
