Another look at this new drama.....

had it been a Thai who posted the pic of the nude lady, would the Thai get the same treatment or would he have got away with a public apology, a 500 THB fine, some well centered finger pointed photos in the media and waïs's ???....

if yes, fine...if not, someting  stinks....:sorry:

Don't get they could charge him under the CCA, he made a statement to a newspaper that got "printed"??

Ok try this

He was asked about the two locals who had ripped off UK companies and even their staff to the tune of 3 mill+ Baht then legged it back here. A local newspaper contacted our friend who they also knew had been ripped off to the tune of £8k for a comment on these two con artists he said yes it was true these two had riped him off to the tune of £8k+ and in his eyes they where totally untrustworthy, liars and thieves.

Now in the UK if this if true and can be proved you are encouraged under UK laws to name and shame those who do it. The BBC has a program called Whatchdog that does it on TV every week, so as to protect people from fraud. All 100% legal and within the law.

Here the CCA protects the con artists from that being done so almost 100% the problem the country faces.

So law in the UK is worth nothing here as con artists can do as they please. But UK law and enforcement is what you need not crap that comes out of con artists mouths.

As for charging him they did as so many corrupt people around, Do You Want To See The Paperwork, as i have a copy here with me right now, but its only a copy.

123 Amazing (where are we)

Hope that helps you now understand corruption and what has happened in the past and is used to con you........

What it means is UK law is worth nothing and Local law rules the world, which as you well know is utter rubbish, UK law is used across the world and respected by all civilized country's.

Only time will tell as anything can happen around here so waiting to hear the otherside, but if he did it and is not made to plead guilty, fine he deserves it.

But unfortunately see it from the other side so very very wary. As some just cannot be trusted.

There's an awful lot of guys out there who've posted nude pics of Thai girls.

And the photos needn't be nude for the poster to be facing a world of problems.  Photos accompanied by nasty comments or anything defamatory would be enough for all sorts of problems to follow.

Yep even when they are liars and con artists who use this law, is it not time to blow the whistle on this draconian law? It would help the country so much in the worlds eyes.

Hmmmhh... I am not a lawyer by all means, but there are two things: the Thai defamation laws, which have been around for a long time, as a means to protect the richer and more powerful, TIT; and the more recent CCA (Computers Crimes Act), which is very centered on defamation. This makes me smile as defamation is defamation whether it is via Internet or not, and CCA should have focussed on computer crime.

So to cut it short, your story is about defamation, not computer crime. But TIT where the minds become fuzzy.

Don't be naive, it's there for a reason.

Reprehensible remark.

Regardless of what she may or may not have done, it doesn't excuse the actions of the man, posting revenge porn to the public domain.

Akin to saying a woman deserves to be raped because of what she is wearing.  Utter nonsense

Argus,

I wondered what happened to you after you left your chief reporter role at the King's Cross Whisper in the 60's?

People who are outside Thailand are harder to track down and to arrest , its easy to arrest people within Thailand .

The media report said "alleged", they didnt say he did it , he hasnt been tried by the media or the public opinion.

The article read: "Anon said the Frenchman visited Chiang Mai in May. He met a Thai woman and lived with her in an apartment in the Mueang district. He became angry when the woman ended the relationship, and sought revenge by hacking her Facebook account and posting nude photos he had secretly taken of her."

There should have been an allegedly before anything unproven in a court of law.

Don't get me wrong, this is a despicable crime. But please proof his guilt first!

Sad silly sod and will pay the price for it with The Draconian CCA

But He hacked her account, not so easy to do unless you have pass123

The bib can say as they like, very few even know how to use FB and make it up as they go along utter liars some of them and bad ones at that. (from experience)

But just to let you know how bad the CCA is

You put a comment on Trip Advisors or the likes of as to having a bad hotel or meal in a restaurant and return the next year on holiday here and you too could get arrested

Make a comment about a Thai to your local newspaper in your own country then come on holiday here and again you will be arrested, even though its fully legal to do so in your own country.

Not sticking up for the guy in any way as he is a scumbag for doing that, but the CCA is even worse, just away to make money and shut people up on whistle blowing, so having a go at the CCA only.

The CCA is pure evil

Just check the paperwork and when they say its your IP address laugh as they do not know how to obtain it and lie like no tomorrow until they come up against a guy who knows. fact Our friend went through this for a different charge, what a bunch of liars the BK bib where and he has the paperwork to prove it. One minute paperwork from the ministry said it was his address, then after a meeting where they found out he knew more than them it same paperwork said "We do not know whose address that IP belongs to, Fin liars.

Exactly! Now and again the CCA is used for genuine computer related crimes. Mostly this law is in place to instill FEAR and control people. Just the knowledge that they can do this is often enough to stop the type of negative comments about Thailand - So every now and again, expect to see some headline pointing out someone being arrested for such and such on such and such social media site - it is just done to reinforce the threat!
